5++++ AMAZING STARS!
Wowwww, what a great book! I've been wrapped up in books that are all similar to 50 Shades, or Twilight, or Sookie Stackhouse series, etc that I didn't realize how much I would actually appreciate an authors writing (AMAZING WRITING, at that) that wasn't a copycat, an author with her own ideas and style of writing. Someone with an imagination, someone who does great research, someone who put together a fan-freaking-tastic piece of literature.All I can say is, AMENNNN!****SPOILERS AHEAD*****Ok, I'll be totally honest- never heard of A.R. Torres a day in my life. Guess what? Now I'll never forget her either. I did some research and already added her two other books (one hasn't been released yet) onto my Wish List and TBR list and I'm going to Facebook/goodreads stalk her as soon as I'm done with this. The Girl in 6E was actually a group read on one of my Goodreads Groups. I don't usually do them because I find myself not liking the books, most of the time. But I read the summary of the book and thought I'd give it a try. At first, I wasn't sure where the book was going to go. It was clear what the plot was- Jessica/Deanna was a psychopath killer and she knew it. She protected everyone else surrounding her by locking herself up and cyber sexed for income. So I was unsure if I was about to read a story about a girl who broke out of her cave and murdered a crapton of people and went to jail, to murder some more OR if she was somehow going to have a success story. Anyone who finishes this book obviously knows how it ends and so on.In all honesty, if there were a book that should be made into a movie- this is the one! I wish I was a Hollywood celeb in that movie industry and had some sort of pull as to what actions films are produced based on literature- I would solely vote for this one and stand by my decision til the bitter death of me. Okay, that's being extreme. You get the picture. There's a great message portrayed here! Jessica clearly was insane. Yet there is good in any single person. People whom are ruthless to killing, without a conscience have a problem! People are so quick to judge them and call them every word in the book but clearly, something is wrong with them. I'm almost positive any kind of problem like this one or relating to this one can be cured with lots of therapy, and continued therapy for the rest of the the murderers/rapists lives. Granted, if someone I loved were murdered i would be just as judgmental. Look at how the story ended though! She ended up being a normal, productive human being in society and she found true love. If that isn't a HEA then I don't know what is.Jessica was an online prostitute, for the most part- except she never had sex or contact with anyone else. Some would say this was a stupid idea or unrealistic but it's not! Get online people! These women are everywhere! Yep, in your little small town America towns, too. I would much rather prefer a job like Jessica's versus being a stripper or a corner prostitute, if I had to choose between the 3. In my mind I could never picture myself paying someone to take their clothes off and screw themselves through a computer screen, but hey- people do it! Pornography is one of the top money makers in the United States. Men (mostly) are lonely, and jobs like Jessica's are the alternative to men cheating on their wives and vice versa. I'll say it again, the idea was very well brainstormed and researched- I loved it!I have gotten annoyed lately reading on my Kindle and seeing so many grammatical errors and such in some of the books. I didn't find a single one in this one, not one. As you can see my grammar isn't the greatest and I'll never play it out to be- but when authors have editors and people whom read their ARC's for reviews and such- SOMEONE should catch these errors... Most importantly the authors and editors, ESPECIALLY if the editor is being paid.I still in awe with how wonderful this book was! So thankful that I found it and gave it a try! I'm going to boast on Goodreads now about finally finding a group read book that I thoroughly enjoyed, lol! Torre went into great details when describing the characters, I could literally picture them in my head. I want to be able to picture the action and dialogue going on between the characters in my imagination while reading books, and often times, I'm not able to do so because I can't put a personality/look to a character and so on. It's hard to explain but I know readers understand what I'm saying. With this book, I was able to do it from 10% and on- I loved it! I usually start reading a book and will get 10% of the way through it and take a moral inventory of what the book is about and so on. I feel if I read past 25% and put it down! I wasted too much time and might as well read the rest. The a Girl in 6E blew me away. I was at 47% before I even knew it. That's how you know it's a great book!Thank you thank you thank you!

If you ignore the romance element, this is a fantastic book
Whoa. There was a lot going on in this one. I actually don't like most of Alessandra Torre's romances, but her thrillers have all been so entertaining so far, without exception. This one, despite being a little out there, engrossed me from the beginning and I finished it in a couple hours.THE GIRL IN 6E is about a woman named Deanna Madden, a camgirl who works under the name "Jessica." Deanna lives in an apartment all alone, where she has her super lock her in at night, because she has an exceptionally dark past and obsesses about all the murders that she'd like to commit. For the good of humanity, she keeps herself in a cage.The camgirl stuff seemed really well-researched. I actually just read Isa Mazzei's memoir, who was one of the most popular camgirls on the site that she used, and a lot of the stuff that Mazzei said or talked about (numbers, clients, the difficulties, perks, etc.) matched up, so I feel like Torre really did her research. Maybe she even sat in on a session or two for research. I was really impressed.One day, one of Deanna's clients disturbs her with his request. He's into ageplay, but the details he gives her are so specific that she begins to wonder if he's imagining her as a specific girl. One he might be moving to hurt very soon. And that starts the rundown on a clock, which might just result in all of Deanna's very worst instincts coming out. The cage door is open... and the predator must be stopped.(I should write book blurbs.)So obviously, I really enjoyed this book. I think I actually read this as an ARC when it first came out but I didn't actually read that much about it. Recently I bought the sequel but since I couldn't remember what happened, I bought the first book again, too. I think it really holds up. The weakest element for me in this book was the romance (I didn't like Jeremy), but Deanna was awesome, and both the mystery and the camgirl sessions were really cool.3.5 to 4 out of 5 stars

Boring
I really struggled with this and at the half way point decided that I had better ways to spend my time. There are pages and pages with lots of detailed sex in every manner and form which gets really boring and doesn't add much to the story. The whole concept of the main character being able to lock herself in her apartment for years without EVER having to go out , raises so many questions. How does she get rid of garbage, who reads the meters , how does she get essentials like milk as there isn't even any deliveries from grocery stores. I hated this book . Don't waste your money unless you want to read endless Porn.

PERFECT THRILLER
I started this book last night and just managed to finish it. It took up all my time, distracted me from too many thing just because I could not even put it down so I spent my Saturday roaming various cosy spaces in my house reading this. I tell you what after like an hour or so of reading you begin feeling kinda weird in an unhealthy way but man I just needed to know this story.Alessandra Torre has this way of writing that has always glued me to the story. She knows how to keep her reader guessing and obsessing over the story. It's just in the way she sets it out, each chapter a new and interesting insight and i tell you what it has worked rather well. The going back and forth between different scenes, trying to put the story together, wondering if Deanna or Jessica will finally crack, and a speciality of mine; spending all my time psycho analysing Deanna because that is just what I do.I think it is difficult to talk about this storyline without giving too much away, because it is a thriller and well the whole thrill is the not knowing. So I'm trying to refrain from it but I will say that I still don't know whether I want to sympathise with Deanna or have her treated. Because as much as she is her own person and needs to live her life it is also unavoidable the help she needs. I didn't really understand how her therapist knowing she is a potential threat to others around her, could still keep her confidentiality and not pass the message on. How does she refuse medication when it is possibly the one thing that could help? I don't know, I really did not sympathise with her in that as I think she should in fact be receiving the necessary help. Because feelings or not a killer is a killer. I think Jeremy should run far far away, any sane man would.So summing it up, this book is just...different. It was a new experience for me and it was so damn interesting. It includes some incredibly strange ideas so beware! It just makes it the perfect thriller read. I'm so glad I've just read this now before the release of the next one which I don't even have to wait too long for. So yeah, to anyone wondering note would be a perfect time to read it.

Suspension of belief required...
I'm in two minds about this book - whilst it did keep me intrigued and I read it very quickly, I felt like it was a book of two starkly different halves. The first half was overloaded with erotica which cut off completely at the half way mark when Deanna leaves the apartment. Obviously I'm not saying I expected it to carry on after it left, it hardly could, but perhaps there was just too much of it in the first half that the switch over felt very sudden. I did enjoy Deanna as a character, she is complex and weird and actually tries to deal with her problems. On the negative side I honestly had some moments of just utter disbelief, you do have to take this book at it's surface level and just enjoy it for what it is rather than trying to delve too deeply into what else it means. All in all a fairly gripping (erotic) thriller that requires a little suspension of belief.

6E and its review
Follow Deanna aka Jessica as she brings the reader into a world of online camera-girls, who reveal their body and perform sex acts on the Internet. It is her perfect job - sshe can masquerade as a pleasure seeking college student, without revealing her identity, and she doesn't have to leave 6E, her sanctum. If she does, she will have to fight the urge to destroy another person's life.A solid start to a promising series. I found it hard to connect to any of the characters, whether male or female, young or old. It will be interesting to see Deanna develop as a character, and see if she can come to terms with who she is, and why. It's almost like the tv show, Dexter, to a certain degree, with a lot more erotic undertones. However, the plot is often distracted by the camera shows, and her internal monologue, which leaves the action and full-blown drama of the ending a little lacklustre. Even then, it was predictable in places.Either way though, this is personal taste and would be intrigued to read more from this author.
