why does the video have misleading and false adverts out a “complimentary” abrasion pad? One star for false advertising. Amazon should suspend seller

It does not come with the abrasion pad as advertised. This arrived the day before our vacation and my husband discovered that it didn't come with the pad. Had no time to purchase one so we had to stuff everything in our car. Very disappointed. Spent money on the carrier and the bars and weren't able to use either.

Does it come with the roof protector?

It does NOT come with one, despite the installation video referencing an “included” mat.

Can this work with door hooks for van without a roof rack?

Yes. There are straps with hooks that you attach to the roof frame where the door meets the frame. You’ll find rubber cushioning along the frame which you need to pull down to position the hooks. The cushioning goes back when you take the hooks off. Before you buy it, just inspect the frames to make sure there are lips underneath the cushioning.
