At first sitting it was weird but after a few minutes I loved the way it felt. It was like riding bareback but a little more secure because of the pommel and cantle.I have a very stocky appaloosa that is like putting a saddle on a 55 gal drum (wide and no withers) and I didn't want to spend a fortune on a halflinger saddle that might not fit anyway. My draft saddle did not stay in place even with a breast collar so I thought I would give this a try.This is really a glorified bareback pad but it worked great for me. (My regular bareback pad did not) I can't mount from the ground because there is too much pull on it. I'm only 5 feet tall and ride a 15.2 horse so I have to use a mounting block no matter what kind of saddle. I didn't have any trouble with it slipping when I was riding even when the horse spooked sideways.The only trouble I had was using a breast collar and attaching it to the D-ring on the saddle. The stitching pulled loose and I had to remove the breast collar. Maybe those D-rings aren't meant for a breast collar. I had to finish the ride without the breast collar attached but that wasn't a problem.I did not like the qualty of the girth that came with it so I decided to invest in a dressage girth (mine is a covered neoprene) that works great and seems very comfortable for the horse. I also had to get one 4 inches shorter than the one supplied. As you can see from the picture, the girth attaches quite low on the horse's side.Some of my riding area is quite hilly and I wanted to use a breast collar for a little extra stabiity and to keep the saddle forward. I did not realize the girth I chose did not have a center D-ring but I could use the loop of the breast collar and go over the girth. It worked but I didn't like it because I would have to unsaddle the horse to remove the breast collar. Since I live in Amish country there are a lot of leather/harness shops around so I had them put a D-ring on the girth and add D-rings a little lower on each side of the front of the saddle so the breast collar could be positioned lower on the chest. Just to be extra safe I also had them reinforce the D-rings that were already on the saddle. I haven't had any trouble since.Since I'm 63 and don't have the greatest knees anymore the saddle was extremely comfortable for my legs. I only ride an hour or so at a time but with this saddle I could ride for hours without any pain from the stirrup leathers.For the price I was very pleased. My only complaint was the D-ring coming unstitched which could be fixed at any leather shop for a very small price. If I hadn't attached a breast collar it would not have pulled loose so maybe it isn't meant for the stress of a regular western style breast collar.Anyway, I now own three of these saddles and everyone loves them because it feels like being bareback but offers more security for inexperienced riders. Also because of the design, the stirrups can be removed and have a bareback pad without the stirrups if you so desire. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ... the western style stunni a couple years ago and pretty much wore it out *by L***R on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on December 18, 2015* I purchased the western style stunni a couple years ago and pretty much wore it out. This was a good, cheap treeless saddle, or more of a structured bareback pad with western fender stirrups. My horse was chubby with low wide withers and would often lower her head going down hills. I was having a challenge fitting saddles and finding something comfortable for both of us. I had given up and was riding bareback until I found this saddle. I was able to use the D rings to attach saddle bages behind, attach a crupper and breatcollar. It is not a high quality saddle and it wont last forever but I found it to be a great value. I really like the fenders - I can ride comfortably in shorts. The stirrups have lasted but they dont feel real strong. I do need to take it in and get some stitching repaired and the nylon billets replaced after about 500 trail miles. I have since purchased 2 more stunni saddles (suede, english style). I gave one as a gift and am close to wearing out the knee/thigh area on the suede saddle where the stirrup straps rub and the nylon billets are getting worn. I do recommend you purchase 1) a really good pad for treeless saddles and 2) a good english/dressage girth. I do have challenges with this saddle staying put on 2 of my other horses - older app with a dip behind the shoulders, I do use a build up pad but still the saddle slides back and a walking horse with high withers, again the saddle slides back. Shipping rates and timeline seemed reasonable for an overseas shipment, however packaging had room for improvement - saddles are crushed into a box. ### ⭐⭐⭐ PREPARE TO BUY A BETTER GIRTH, LEATHER STIRRUPS AND IRONS *by B***L on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on January 19, 2015* NOT A BEGINNERS SADDLE...A COMFY GLORIFIED BARE BACK PAD. STIRRUP BUCKLES ARE ON BACKWARDS. IF YOU BUY IT, PREPARE TO BUY A BETTER GIRTH, LEATHER STIRRUPS AND IRONS. YOU WILL NEED GOOD BALANCE TO RIDE WITH THIS SADDLE. FORTUNATELY, THAT IS ALL OKAY WITH ME, BECAUSE I HAVE EXTRA "STUFF". IN ADDITION, I PLAN TO GO TO A LEATHER GUY AND HAVE HIM ATTACH THE FENDERS TO MY LEATHER STIRRUPS.
