THESE ARE NOT THE SAME QUALITY AND SHAPE as the 30 Three Dots British boatneck tees I own!
The neck is all wrong, not the flattering boatneck, but a truncated frumpy looking vaguely boatneck shape. The sizing is all wrong. I own many Mediums and this was WAY TOO TIGHT. Not at all the fit I am used to. And no, I haven't gained any weight. (I'm an intermittent faster, and watch my weight carefully.)I am SO DISAPPOINTED in Three Dots, if indeed this is truly Three Dots. It could be an imposter. And if it is indeed Three Dots, I am SO DISAPPOINTED! Their quality control is sorely lacking. This happened once before, when for about one year, they used a cotton fabric that was NOT their usual smooth, soft but substantial fabric that draped beautifully and felt like peach fuzz on your skin. I called the company to tell them that the fabric was all wrong (I used to be the executive assistant to the head of Coach Leatherware's design department, so I know what I'm talking about). The woman said she was their head of design and that the fabric WAS their usual. I know it was not. ALL my other Three Dots have the same wonderful fabric, and the two I had bought that year most definitely did NOT feel the same. She insisted it was the same quality of cotton, but clearly it was not, so I suggested to her that her supplier must be lying to her about the quality of the cotton they were using, and she should do some investigating. They DID fix the problem the next year.So I'm disappointed to find that perhaps they are once again trying to cut corners and using a supplier that is not providing them with a product that matches the shape and feel of their WONDERFUL British boatneck tees that I've worn as my go-to for years and years and years. Sigh...

Great quality
My sister gave me this shirt as a gift and I wore it almost weekly to work. When it started to look a little old I ordered another one directly from Three Dots online. What I got was so different. Material was sub-par, itchy and a very different cut. RETURNED. Months later after looking for a similar shirt from other manufacturers to no avail; I took a chance and ordered it off of Amazon knowing I may have to return again. What I received was a very nice quality shirt, very soft and similar to the shirt my sister originally gave me. There is so much poor quality clothing out there. I appreciate a manufacturer that keeps their standards. Has Three Dots returned to their roots or if they somehow got a shipment of poor quality knockoffs mixed in with their inventory have they figured it out? BTW, sizes are different than what we have in the US. I am a XS in US which is whole other rant I won't go into! The medium fits me perfectly.

Sizes are not dependable.
There is a HUGE length discrepancy between the black & blue in Medium.Thick jersey fabric, didn't expect that. It's a well made product if it's made in the right size.

Worth the cost
Good fabric, good fit. At 5’10” and about 140 lbs I chose size large based on reviews. It fits nicely, not tight at all but shapely. If I wanted more form fitting a medium would have been.versatile

Make sure you size up for the best fit
Thank you to all the previous reviewers who warned about the sizing issue of running too small. I followed the advice and ordered 2 sizes up and the top fits perfectly. I'm a 36C, normally buy a small in everything, but I ordered a large and the large was a great fit. The material is thick and opaque and is perfect for under an itchy sweater or to be worn as is. Styling is quite nice as well with a scooped boat neck. I would definitely consider buying another in a different color.

Too tight
I have purchased this style from Three Dots for over 10 year’s - they are great. The material is first rate. I usually buy a Large because I like a little loose feeling but have bought Mediums too. This purchase the Large felt like a tight Medium.

I returned this. Its hard to tell from the picture but the cotton was too thick and the fit was too small (I usually wear a size small and I would need at least a medium or large to feel comfortable in this). I'm not sure why Three Dots as a brand is so expensive -- perhaps the quality comes in the thickness of the cotton; I imagine it holds it shape for years. I did like the boat neck style and length of sleeves but that's it. Will be looking for a lighter weight cotton instead.

Great quality basic top
Buying clothes on Amazon can be a hit and miss, but this time I'm so glad I took a chance! I'm always on the lookout for good quality basics, and Three Dots seems to have just that.I have a black boatneck top with 3/4 sleeves from Ann Taylor that I've been wearing for a while because I love the simplicity and versatility of it. It began to fall apart, so I searched high and low for a replacement because Ann Taylor now makes theirs with a round bottom edge, which makes them look more casual.I came across this Three Dots top and ordered it. I'm so glad I did because this is perfect: good quality fabric, not seethrough, well made. I bought an XS for a close fit, but if you prefer looser tops go for a size larger.I immediately ordered a white one too, and that's the same quality but slightly sheer. If worn with a white bra you should be fine. I may have to order some other colors too while they have them.
