Outstanding Campaign Game!
I made the title to make it clear that this is a very solid campaign game. I generally play multiplayer games i.e. Battlefield 3, but we all know that those types of games are made mainly for the multiplayer, leaving the campaign pretty poor. Remember Me went for an all-out campaign game and it shows. This is a very detailed game and the team that put this together did an astonishing job. The music, sound effects, the neo look are all great, but the story in this game is outstanding. The story behind Nilin will suck you in and you will look forward to when you can continue the journey in getting your memory back each time you have to quit the game.As others have said you set up your combo moves which at first your hands will hurt just getting the combos pulled off. Once you get used to it - it will be a little more fluid as the game notifies you when you have to hit either "Y" or "X" depending on whether your set up is for damage, self-healing, or cool down. Some enemies are tougher than others and at the end of Episode 2 I actually had to change the difficulty to the lowest setting to defeat the boss. That's another plus, being able to change the difficulty in order to prevent you from getting frustrated. Again, the story is so good that you will want to beat the heck out of foes in order to find out what's next.If you are looking for a multiplayer game then pass on this one. If you are looking for a very solid campaign game that just sucks you in then do yourself a favor and pick this game up. Although, this game may be overlooked as I would have missed it if it wasn't for a recommendation from Amazon. I'm really glad this game found me and I think you will too.

Great Story
I played this game a few months ago and really enjoyed it. It stuck with me. The story line is really interesting. I am not a great gamer by any means and I definitely run into some points where I'd have to start again but they were not excessive. It definitely requires you to think for a lot of the game. The "remix" parts of the game are really cool - probably my favourite part of the game overall. Some of the fighting and jumping can get a bit repetitive and the scenery is all a bit the same. Other than that, the gameplay is really good especially for someone like me who doesn't usually enjoy fighting/jumping games. It's also refreshing to have another game with a female protagonist that doesn't feel patronising or gratuitous. The main character just happens to be female. The voice acting was pretty good and the graphics are nice. If you like story driven games that are challenging but not insane, I definitely recommend this one.

Everything I'd hoped for!
This game is incredible! The graphics are great and the landscape isn't repetitive, which is a common problem I have in the games I play. The character development is spot-on and the voice acting is superb. I say that because it isn't cheesy and here it noticeably enhances the story. The customizable combo chains are great and combat itself isn't boring. The remixing isn't as tricky as I thought it might be; the only thing I dislike about it is that there aren't more instances to use it. Anyway, I'm going to go have more fun swinging off of buildings now. :)

A good game, which could have been a great game..
As an introduction, I'll say that I am an average player experienced on several gaming systems and, as a french person, I was excited to play with Remember Me. An adventure game in a Future Paris, with the Memory-Sensen concept and a charismatic heroin, count me in!Basically, Remember Me is settled in Neo-Paris - basically Paris in 2084 - and follows the story of Nilin. In this world where memory is now digitalized - so it can be bought, sold, traded and stolen - Nilin is a Memory Hunter, one of the only people that can not only steal memories, but change and rearrange them without the victim's knowledge. However, she gets caught and lost all of her memory, and this is where the game starts, with you (as Nilin) looking for your memory.I'll start with a general opinion, then I'll develop my review on different points. The Spoilers will be avoided, except in the story part (end of the review, it will be indicated):GENERAL OPINION: 14/20Remember Me is a good game which presents several very interesting elements, but fails to reach the "Great Game" level. The linearity and the lack of consistence, add to the un-even gameplay, left you wish the game was more developed - a hope that might be achieved in next games.+ : amasing design and art, great concept for the story, interesting gameplay but not original- : story development, level design, combat becoming boring.DESIGN: 5/5 and 3/5Let's start with the grpahics of the game, because this is impossible to deny: Remember Me is beautiful. Every level is drawn/built with precision and details, from the little and dark streets to the giant and lightful towers. Every level has its own charm - the disgusting and dangerous sewers, the asceptic prison of La Bastille, the populare St Michel Plaza, the Mnemonic Towers - whatever the location, you will spend time just looking around and appreciate it.Nilin is perfectly designed. I'd compare her to Lara in the last Tomb Raider: charismatic and sexy, without the "too much" that could have been done for a OTS game which will be played mainly by men (sad statistics, but true). A bit disapointing that she isn't changing clothes during the game though.. I would have liked seeing her in armor, but this is just a details. The Leapers are interesting ennemies. Well designed, disturbing enough to make you feel uneased, they exactly achieved their roles. Same for the robots and their peaceful faces - I especially liked the flying ones. And to finish the "good", the Memory/Augmented Reality concept is perfectly described! From the little shops, that have some holographic message giving general information, to the dangerous place with a description of the danger nature, to the little pieces of Sensen technology on the enemies bodies (and on Nilin), the entire world seems half real, half inside a technology, and the final look is great! Now the bad....Level are linear, so linear... no originality is offered to you, you will always run in corridor levels, and as soon as you reach a square room, it will be a fight. No curves, no specific angles will appear to you, and a claustrophobic feeling will follow you from the beginning to the end. When games like The Last of Us or Tomb Raider give the impression of open world (though they are not), it is hard to go back to corridor-like games...The camera is terribly placed! I'll go back to this in the "combat" part, but concerning the design, that means you will never see the things around you - and therefore will not enjoy the beautiful landscapes! The camera is centered on your feet, all the time. From creators interviews, this is "because people usually look at their feet, so we wanted people to feel like they were in the game". This is, in my opinion, an incorrect way of considering vision - you cannot build a game projected on a surface the same way peple sees the world. Anyway, it was so frustrating, especially with the work done on the buildings and atmosphere...Another complain: NO MAPS! The action takes place in Neo-Paris, so a place based on a real city. You travel to specific sites (la Bastille, Place St Michel, etc..) that people who knows Paris will be thrilled to see. Then, the lack of Map is a huge mistake! I'm not talking about and open-world map, since the game is a linear one. I'm talking about charging time between chapters, where you can see a great art-map of Neo Paris (or more precise location), with the changes of shape compared to our nowadays Paris. Too bad..The secondary characters behave weirdly... They moved in a weird and un-natural way sometimes, which breaks the immersion. You don't see them way enough also, even though their stories are all interesting (in terms of design AND story). I understand the game is based on Nilin, but more details on Olga or Bad Request would have brought a lot to the whole, I believe. The cops/security gards are badly design, in my opinion. The idea of having them wearing helmets has been over-used in so many games, it pained me to see this here. The main result is that you have the same ennemies every time, only the colors are different.. Also, it looks like all cops are men, and have a goatee. When you have a game focus on a female main character, I can't believe you have the macho "security gards are all men".Last part of design I was upset with: the in-between-level. Before starting a chapter, you have Nilin talking to herself in a unknown place, which seems like she is in her own memory - a mix of geometric figures and shapes.GAMEPLAY AND COMBAT: 3.5/5The Gameplay is good. Nilin is responsive, she's agile in a Uncharted's Nathan Drake kinda way, especially in the climbing phase. But this is something every adventure games are showing these days, so this is not that impressive. The climbing phase are good also, with your Sensen technology (the memory on your neck) giving you indications where to go. This is a good idea since the surrondings look great, therefore you are tempted to climb everything. It makes the game simpler though...I was annoyed by the fact that the camera is sometimes too close to Nilin when she is on foot. You have no idea of your surroundings and the camera answers slowly in no-fight sequence. As for the combat, it is separated in two parts: the combos, and the focus moves.Combos are already scheduled set of commandes (X X X or Y X Y X Y or X Y Y X Y Y, etc). You can choose only what to associate to each commande: Power kick, Regen, Cooldown or Increase Power. Add to this the A commande that makes you jump on the other side of the ennemy to avoid an attack, and you get an interesting system.... that gets boring after one hour. If at least, you'd have more than 4 types of association, that would give interesting combos. But here, you basically create a Cooldown/Regen combo, and a Strong Attack one, and you vary between these two...There are 6 focus moves that you unlock along the games. Some are interesting, some are specific to one kind of ennemy, and some are almost never used. You basically use one Focus Unit (from a gauge) and need to wait the cooldown time. Kinda classic. The problem is you will fight always the same way: combo combo combo jump combo combo combo, then repeat until you can use a focus. Some bosses can be used only with a specific focus, which means "unlimited basic ennemies to fill your focus jauge". And some classic TQE to end the fights. I won't say it is a bad system, it is just not new and have been better used in other games (Darksiders 1, The Witcher). Also, the camera ends up (sometimes) in bad angles during fights, which makes things annoying. It wasn't ofter at least, but still, I thought we were done with these kind of problems...Finally, the last upsetting thing was how combat happen. Every time, you have one ennemy arriving, you finish it, then two ro three more show up. Even though this is "so you understand how the ennemy is fighting", that makes little to no sense as for how the ennemy is fighting, since it happens EVERY time..The last part of my review is the story, and since I will do some spoilers, you should stop here if you don't want to read any. Before we go to the spoilers, I want to say that even if I criticize a lot the game, I had a great time playing Remember Me, and I can't wait to see the next game! I wish they would make an Open World in Neo Paris, with the possibility to steal every people's memory, like WatchDogs seems to be doing, but in this cool and great environment!Thank you------------------ CAREFUL : SPOILERS ---------------------------------------------STORY: 3/5 to 5/5 depending on momentsThe general world is very interesting. The history is told through memory packages, and learning about the European War and how towns have been destroyed or how Paris has been bombed, this was great! You feel like you are in an achieved new world. The fact that Neo-Paris was a City-State, with food now grown in vertical buildings and the separation between low suburbs to high rich towers, and how it was created like this, so interesting! As for the Memory market changing the world completely, it was well described, though it seems missing something. For example, Sensen tech has all power on Neo-Paris, but then what is the government doing? Is Memorize the main leader? Is Neo-Paris a Oligarchy, a Dictatorship which controls people through the Sensen tech, or what? This stays obscure...Also, the Errorist cause feels like a rip-off of V for Vendetta. As a whole, Errorist are terrorist. Nilin is a terrorist. She kills people. Lots of them. I mean common, when the dam is breached, she is responsible of thousands of death... The justification Edge is giving for there action "I don't blame them for who they are, I blame them for not taking action", this is a terrible dogmatic speech! Killing people because they don't agree with your way of reasoning, this isn't freedom of speech! Also, the Leapers are not well described. I understand they are addicts to memory, ok. But why the mutations? Since when this technology has an impact on physics? If so, it would explain why Kid X-mas was so big, but then why are they the only one with physical mutations? Nilin should have deformation too. And EVERYBODY, since EVERYBODY HAS THE SENSEN TECH!!! I agree the leapers look great, but a little bit more reasonning would have been appreciated.Talking about ennemies, I didn't get why the drones (that kills you when they see you) exist. If the Memorize security forces have this tech, why not using it in combat against Nilin? These cops are probably the stupidest people ever... And if someone says "that because this tech will fry all Sensen tech, then send only robots and Nilin is done.Other thing, I understand why the cops are against Nilin, she is (again) a terrorist, so no pity. But people working at La Bastille, they will see people turned into Leapers then used as soldiers, and be totally ok with it? Really? I'm saying this because Reconverted Leapers are used in the middle of the Mnemorize Towers, not just at la Bastille. People (citizen and guards alike) should say "hey guys, how can we control these zombies and get attack by them in the same time? And why focusing these troops to this only terrorist, when the ENTIRE city is attacked?!?"Talking about La Bastille, I don't get why Madame can manipulate Nilin in her world... She has this power - which sounds awesome - but as soon as you defeat, you gain the ability to.... move object? WTF? That makes no sense! And another thing with la Bastille, you blowed up the dam and reveals the sewers, full of Leapers apparently... That means that Leapers can live under water? Maybe this is another mutation, at this point I think there is no sense at all... Let's not say a thing about how/what Leapers eat...Now about Charles and Scylla Cartier-Wells, Nilin's parents, I though there story was great. The accident, both trying to fix it, memory manipulation, this was awesome! But...But apparently, Charles change Nilin memory so she forgot the accident. And her mother didn't want to tell her, ok. But then, the reason why Nilin became an Errorist, this is unclear. She is the freaking daughter of the two leaders (dictator?)! She should remember this! My theory is that a DLC will arrive soon, with the "missing memory" of how Nilin lost this part.Anyway, the main point is the following. When you change Scylla's memory, you can see she remembers the accident perfectly. That means Charles didn't change it. That means, in his memory, after changing Nilin's memory, he was going to change Scilla's memory so everybody can be happy, but he failed. Ok. However, Scylla told him "that is why you changed my memory".... Big incoherence, which is a mistake in my opinion. Scylla hated her daughter for being responsible of the accident, pushing her to be an errorist, and Charles lost his mind by staying in happy memories...Other annoying points: the suicide Nilin is responsible of. Even though I am surprised that somebody noticed her, arrested her, then read her memory so she is found guilty and sent to la Bastille, why is it a big deal for her to kill somebody? I mean, AGAIN, she is a TERRORIST! She killed tons of people!Same unknown logic for Olga, you changed her memory so her husband David seemed (in her mind) to be killed by the doctor. But her husband is alive, therefore how can she pass to the Errorist cause just like this, in one day? Why is she not going on the hunt for Quaid? She seemed like the resentful one, since at first she was blaming Nilin for David's situation...As a whole, the general plot was good, the world was great, but the story was illogical and poorly explained, which is too bad for the potential of this game. I wish they would do better for the next game - the sales are good, there will be a Remember Me 2, don't worry - especially for the logic of the story. And an open World in Neo-Paris, that would be AWESOME!!!Thank you for reading!

Great gameplay, awesome story
This game has been one of the most fun I've played in awhile, and that's saying a lot since I have 1200 Xbox games. This game has a great story, the gameplay and controls are tight and if you are into achievements they are fun and not too hard. I liked this game enough to play multiple playthroughs from start to finish to get the full 1k of gamerscore. I would write about the game itself but that's what the description is for. When I bought this it was just under 13 bucks. It's a great value, one of the best I've seen in ages.

A graphic masterpiece
I didn't buy the game when it was released because it just got a 70 on metacritic on xbox 360. But I bough it in February 2015 after having read articles from Seb Lagarde about the rendering and after having watched 90 minutes of a playthrough on youtube: it is even better in real time. That is the proof that video game is an art. The visuals are breathtaking. The art direction created a neo Paris that I would say surpasses Ridley Scott's Blade Runner. The technology is mastered at an unprecedented level: an-isotropic reflections of lights on a wet floor, indirect lighting... I played Last of Us, AC Unity, and I admit that I am a graphics whore. but this game is la creme de la creme. The combat system is not very enjoyable but fortunately the memory remix sequences are just great. "Life is strange" from the same company uses this concept on a larger scale. The story is pretty good, and the premices are really interesting.
