MICROBE-LIFT MLLSSXL Summer Staple Floating Fish Food Pellets for Ponds, Water Gardens, and Fountains, for Live Goldfish and Koi, 14 Pounds

I have a very small pond and I want to use a food that is safe for my fish in extreme Texas heat. I felt this food was perfect for my conditions and the fish seemed to like it.

I like the price and my fish like the food, good size pellets, I have big kio and a few catfish.

Used for years

I've been a dedicated user of Eco Labs Microbe Lift koi foods for about 12 years now. Several years ago, I ran out of it and instead tried a different (cheaper!) brand. The water quality in my pond became an issue a few weeks after switching so I immediately went back to the Microbe Lift foods.I use their  High Growth and Energy Fish Food  during warm seasons, but during the summer I switch to this Summer Staple, occasionally adding their  Fruits and Greens  floating stick type.The only problem I have with this Microbe Lift Summer Staple food is the pellet size. These tiny floating pellets are perfect for small to medium sized koi, but tend to get "lost" during a feeding frenzy of giant fish mouths. Now that my koi are quite large (24+ inches), I prefer the larger size of the "floating sticks" offered in some of the other varieties. I've used the company's  Legacy Big Bites  which are simply larger-sized pellets of this same regular Summer Staple food. The Big Bites are BIG--slightly less than a half-inch in diameter (about the size and appearance of dog kibble--which is the perfect mouth-size for my larger koi. Unfortunately, the Big Bites are not always readily available and I have to settle for this regular Summer Staple with the small pellets.
