The Makoto Synthetic Silk Sword Bags are made of high quality synthetic silk. They provide a gloss finish similar to silk, while maintaining premium-cloth-like thickness to enhance the protection of your beloved katana sword or wakizashi. The sword in picture is not included Review: Elegant bag - This is a nicely made bag. The pattern/design was our choice as elegant and not too ostentatious, but tasteful. This is a nice compliment to our beautiful sword. Review: Good value for the cost. - I purchased 23 of these sword bags in various patterns to house an equal number of Japanese swords that were sitting bare in my safe. Having a sword bagged protects it from dust and fingerprints, and protects anyone that picks it up from injury if the habaki is loose fitting in the saya. The bag keeps the sword from sliding out of it's sheath accidentally. These are very light material. They have two layers, but they are not padded enough to protect from any banging around. For storage, they are fine. They come with a very disappointingly short two-strand twisted cord. The cord is long enough to tie the bag closed, but not in an attractive manner. I took the cords off of half of the bags and added them to the cords on the remaining bags. This gave enough material to approximate the length of a real Japanese fusahimo, and allowed the bag to be tied gracefully. On the remaining bags I substituted 10 foot lengths of colored braided cord; these actually look better than keeping the cheap cords that came with the bags. If I want to really do it right I could order 20 fusahimo and replace all the cords, but those go for more than twice the cost of these inexpensive bags; so for now I am satisfied with my current substitutions. For comparison, a good Japanese made sword bag with fusahimo will probably set you back $150-$200 each.

Decent bag, poor fusahimo
The bag is extremely attractive looks great but, the fusahimo ( tassel cord) is really a bit to short (probably 10 inches) and, the tassels fell apart within a week. Overall it is still worth the price in my opinion. Bag has held up well over a few months.
