The Annotated Secret Garden (The Annotated Books)

This a stunning feast for the eyes and the mind. I have known of this book for a number of years prior to the successful recent late 1980's Broadway play which returned this Eastern Tennessee author to a rightful place in American literature. Burnett, also the author of a series of famous children's novels, is an Interesting woman who's story is well told in this treatment. As part of a larger series of annotated volumes, what is presented here is a great backroom story of how a delightful story becomes a must have for adults. While this book is the sort of Christmas present to hand down to the next generation, it should not be left on a shelf only taken down a few times a year. It should instead be enjoyed on a rainy day or any day when the brain wants a journey without the use of a computer or a television.

This book is absolutely fantastic! I'm beginning to collect all of the Annotated books by W. W. Norton & Company. I highly recommend these books. They are very informative and interesting works of art. If you love all of the classic stories than please don't pass by this book. It is a MUST have for anyone that is in to collecting books. Beautiful!

The Secret Garden was one of my favorite books as a child. Reading the annotated version as an adult has added to my pleasure. More and more we are hearing that our thoughts, feelings, and habits are more significant than our genes when it comes to our health, so the message in The Secret Garden that Colin's health depended upon his mental state is more significant than ever. If you love The Secret Garden, you will adore The Annotated Secret Garden!

I love this story since I was a little girl. I also love all these annotated books. This one in particular is lovely and full of authour info.

What a beautiful edition of this classic! I was shocked at how gorgeous it was when it arrived. Dustjacked has embossed texture, the colors are rich, page quality felt great, illustrations and annotations are excellent. I worried if my teen might've already outgrown this book, but, especially with the annotations adding to the context, he really loved it and devoured it within a few days.

This is my most favorite copy of A Secret Garden. I first read the book in first grade when I was first allowed to check books out of the school library. I read it over and over for years. My mom ended up having to pay the school for the book because I refused to return it. This annotated edition is priceless. I purchased one for myself and one for a friend who wanted something good to read. It now sits proudly on my bookshelf.

I think that this book is an excellent quality and a beautiful gift. my children have love me reading it to them.

Absolutely stunning book! Filled with interesting annotations and beautiful colour images from the many different editions of The Secret Garden. I recommend this book to any fan of the novel, it will highly enrich the reading experience!

These "annotated series" are all incredible books, both in content and in form: the quality is amazing. This book is no exception. If I could give it more starts I would.
