G.B.S Stylish Grooming Shaving Set for Wet Shaving Boxed Ceramic Black Shaving Soap Bowl/Mug with Knob Handle

So I ordered the G.B.S. Stylish Grooming Shaving Kit because I needed a new shave mug and soap and this one had an added bonus of a badger brush. So let’s talk about each component individually.The mug is awesome, the handle let’s you get a good grip while loading your brush. It is stylish and looks good on my vanity. It is the biggest component and the most redeeming feature.The soap that was advertised was a Sandalwood scent. The soap I received was Bay Rum, which is not a big deal because I enjoy Bay Rum scent. The scent is on the weak side, which is also fine because many people don’t care for strong scents, or they rely primarily on aftershave and/or cologne for their scent. My biggest issue with the soap is that I can work it until my hand falls off and it doesn’t create as thick of a lather as I prefer. Because of this, it has ok slickness but not much cushion. The lather dissipates pretty quickly and leaves my skin feeling a little dry. I will use the rest of the puck, but I will probably look elsewhere for my next soap.And finally we get to the brush. The brush is ok. It’s a badger hair knot with a round (feel like porcelain) handle. The knot is a little smaller than my other brushes, and I’ll probably make it a travel brush. When I broke in the brush, it did shed a decent amount of hair. I’ve used it about four times since I broke it in, and each time I have found it to shed 1-2 hairs per shave. From other reviews, I expected it to shed more but overall it is not bad. The small round handle does get a little hard to hold once it gets wet.Overall, if you are new to wet shaving and looking for a decent starter kit, this one isn’t bad. Also, congratulations on ditching the cartridge razor and subpar aerosol cream or gel, and welcome to a closer, less irritating shave. You made the right choice. If you’re primarily looking for a good shave mug, I can recommend this kit. If you have been wet shaving for a while and are looking for more premium products, you might want to look elsewhere. For the price point, this is a pretty decent starter kit!

I purchased this set for my Dad for Father's Day. He said the soap was the best he had ever used and I just placed an order for 2 more boxes. But he has had nothing but trouble with the Brush. His face looks like a porcupine after he has shaved. We kept thinking after so many uses it would no longer shed, but if anything it has gotten much worse. My Dad is 91 years old and I wanted something special to remind him of his younger days. Big disappointment with the brush! But definitely glad I purchased the rest of the set. UPDATE: After reading my review, the company contacted me personally and made things right! They apologized for the brush "having a mind of it's own" LOL! They sent my Dad a new brush plus an extra gift for his inconvenience. I will definitely order from them again!

1 star only for the bowl because I ordered this particular set for the ocean driftwood soap but I received sandalwood.... why write out a description of what I receive is not going to be what is stated also the brush it comes with stinks really bad probably just going to end up throwing it away and is very cheap/ flimsy hard to lather the soap up with it i honestly only really wanted a new soap bowl but decided to get a set for the brush to match but that ended up being a big regret should of just saved my money and bought the bowl only

My husband loved his gift. The cup is big enough to create a large amount of lather without the mess of a smaller cup. why did we ever get away form using a mug and soap I"ll never know. I truly believe I have had the best shaves ever. your product was well worth the money . the is better than the shaving creams that I have used in the past. it brings back memories of me watching my grandfather shave. its just the best for me!

Bought it thinking it the brush stand had a place for my double edged razor. Was a little disappointed when I found out it didn't. But the quality is first rate. Compliments my shaving routine. Best shaves I have ever had. Highly recommend.

Nice gift kit. Brush holder is a bit cheapy, my husband doesn't use it. I didn't consider the fact that my husband shaves in the shower, and slippery ceramic mugs aren't the best for that. It broke, but I was able to find a plastic shaving mug with a rubberized bottom at Sally Beauty Supply that works great. So, this kit would be best for a man who shaves at the sink, not in the shower.

Great Entry level set brush needs to cleaned first as brush hair will fall out. The brush is Ok. The bristles are soft and provide a good lather. I've had a descent amount of shedding from it.. The mug is very solid and a great size. The soap just does not get the lather you want but it is a good price for $25.

Got this set because I needed the bowl, and just for a few more dollars got a few more items. The bowl, brush, and soap are as expected, but I thought because of the pictures there was supposed to include a razer gift set. That's why I only gave 3stars.

been almost a year now year and my brush sheds likes crazy. Not happy at all.

The brush is smaller than I hoped
