I needed this book for a class and it showed up in great condition and was cheaper then all of my other books by far.

This is not a narrative history as the title might suggest. It is really a historical atlas with good accompanying commentary and illustrations. As a historical atlas, it is superb.

This history book is simply excellent. It is well laid out, clearly and passionately written, and is the absolute basis for British History in our home-schooling program. The maps and diagrams are well done, very interesting to investigate, and illustrate well the subjects covered. It is up-to-date, detailed, and the chapters are short and outlined well. Definitely the best British History book I could find, and I looked a lot!

Love learning about European history. These are the countries some of my ancestors came from. The more I learn the more I want to know.

Wonderful reference book

I am working on a history project about Britain and wanted a "helicopter view" really as a guide to picking up on subjects/periods that I would then follow in greater depth and detail, this certainly did the job for me. In fact, even if you are not a dedicated history fan, for an easy read if only to prepare you for a pub quiz night, well worth the price.
