It’ll show 9.0 one minute. Then 5 minutes later I’ll blow a 4.0. Each time is dramatically different. But if I’m definitely not in Ketosis, it seems to give me a consistent 0.0. Seems like a yes or no readout would be more appropriate for this device. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This meter works great if you follow a few guidelines *by M***G on Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2020* To allow this meter to really do a great job of reading Ketone levels, follow these rules:1. DO NOT take a deep breath before blowing into the meter. Take shallow breaths as the countdown approaches zero and then do an extended exhale into the meter for roughly 8 seconds. The big breath brings in fresh air and does not allow the ketones in the lungs to be measured.2. Shake the meter a few times up and down (slowly) before using. This helps clear the meter of old air and usually stops the meter from doing TWO twenty second countdowns.3. Don't worry if the meter shows zero occasionally. Also, don't worry if it shows zero for the first day or two on a Keto diet. Give it a little time and follow rule 1. ### ⭐ Ketone Breathe Analyzer Works Great *by 5***S on Reviewed in the United States on November 23, 2019* At first I was not getting reliable feedback from this. I have been on a Keto diet for well over a year. I started with the test strips but after a while those stop working correctly and you either have to do blood tests or breath testing to get a better indication. My first readings were wildly erratic - starting out at 1.5 (good!) and successive tests being well off the original and some even reading zero. I contacted the seller and was given this advice which seems to stabilize the result:1. Run the unit 3 times without a test (do this by pressing the start button immediately after you get a zero reading, the unit will immediately cycle through another warm up.2. On the 4th warm-up, wait for the count down and when it beeps blow through the tube EASILY. You're not trying to blow up a baloon. Just a soft steady breathe into the device.3. The device will beep again. Stop blowing and it will process the results. I'm able to get steady reading using this method (usually within 0.2 points of each other.Other pointers. - don't use right after a meal. Use first thing in the morning (or before ending a fast).REVISEDAfter taking into account ALL of the recommendations from the manufacturer and trying two of these (side by side comparison) I can't recommend this as a reliable measurement for ketones. I've sent it back. I got distinctly different reading in the side by side tests AND I've asked friends who are NOT on Keto to try it and they are registering as if they are on the Keto diet.
