Great Mic Tripos especially for the price
I've used those dang heavy base mic stands since about 1965 (Atlas mic stand). The problem always was their weight. I play live music with a couple of bands and I was still hauling a heavy-base mic stand around while they were using tripod based stands. Finally decided to get this one. It works great and, of course, is night and day lighter to carry around. Plus it collapses down nicely so it doesn't take up a lot of room. I certainly won't go back to those old cast iron base heavy stands. The one problem that I have with it is that the lever for the boom is on the right-hand side of the stand. I figured I could just flip the boom around so it's on the left side, but you can't pull the boom out of it's mount to do so. Reason I want to do that is that I put my charts on my old Kindle Fire HD and mount it to the stand. Because it's one of the old 7" ones, it needs to be up close to the boom for me to see it easily. It gets in the way of the boom adjustment lever, so adjustments are not easy to make to the angle of the boom once the Kindle is mounted. It can still be adjusted, it's just a hassle to do so. Overall a great mic stand at a great price.

You actually get on stage stands...
I was surprised to receive on-stage branded stands. Was trying to avoid that brand because in the past on stage stands I got broke after only a couple months of use. I actually returned this, thinking it was an error, and bought from somewhere else. To my surprise the same thing happened - what arrived was on stage branded stands, NOT world tour. Not sure what’s happening here. I might be missing something, but FYI what you’re actually buying is “on stage” stands, not world tour stands.

I'd skip this one
I was really excited to receive this but no matter how much I tighten the adjustments it's still pretty weak and floppy. I had to put books on the feet to hold it down and the arm is a real problem because it swings all the time and I can't tighten it any more than it is.

Very good for the price. Better built than other cheap ones
I do use these out of the studio some, but I don't put them through very rigorous abuse, and they seem to be holding up pretty well so far. I wouldn't put them in a rental rotation, if that's what you do, but if you're using them yourself and you know how not to abuse them, I suspect you'll be pretty happy with them. One comment about the bag - it's actually unexpectedly well constructed and strong, but one time, I lifted up on one of the handles without the other, without a lot of weight in the bag, and I heard the faint sound of a popping thread or two (at the place where the handle is attached to the bag, not the bag itself ripping)... so just remember that the handles are only designed to be used together, with the weight pulling straight down, like when you're carrying it normally.

These seem to be well made and sturdy compared to other boom stands in this price range
These seem to be well made and sturdy compared to other boom stands in this price range. It's intuitive to set up and decently packaged. Only time will tell how great it actually is. I will update my review if I encounter any problems. For now, I'm quite satisfied. I use these for band practice so they don't get taken apart too frequently. It's pretty quick to adjust; it stands perfectly over my synth stand and captures vocals easily while I play. I did have an issue with initial shipping date estimate and tracking, but amazon customer service was excellent as always and resolved any issues.

If you actually want a useable bag, get these not jamstands
Stanks are perfectly OK, easily comparable to the jam stands also sold here for a si.ilar price. Neither is really tour grade, but they aren't priced that way are they? They will hold up just fine until some moron thinks he has to torque the snot out of them...and then they will fail. The bag is much heavier grade than the one that comes with the jamstands kit...

but these are good, solid stands for this application
Wow! I just received these today; I purchased them for a home studio. For the price, I wasn't expecting much, but these are good, solid stands for this application. Plenty of adjustment angles & nice long boom gives me plenty of options to mic instruments and vocals in various positons, quickly and easily. Also, at this price, I can stock up and have as many as I might need. Very happy with the quality and functionality.

So far so good!
I was nervous a out buying a mic stand without seeing it and being able to check its quality, but tried it anyway.... very happy with it! Good quality stand, sturdy and doesnt seem to be fragile at all (thankfully!). Had it for a couple months, and My biggest concern was the stripping when adjusting height, but so far so good. No problems
