i've used their beard oil b4 and i have used better, however those oils were more expensive for a bottle half the size. i would say out of all the oils i've used(and that quiet a few) that this is the best value out there. which is why i choose to buy it again and even try more of their products. Now as for the balm. its the first time i've actually tried a balm. i've had my beard for quiet some time now so it doesn't really bother me much so the oil is enough and also its quiet long and wild so i need a full wax if im going to style it. however i was extremely happy with this balm! the scent is great, it makes my beard nice and soft, gives it a nice lil shine and best of all the hold is actually great! now obvi its not a full wax, but this product alone is great for taming your beard. i find myself use this daily to keep my beard in control and only having to use my wax when really really need to keep it locked in place. i was beyond satisfied with it. defs ordering both again and even looking through their other products

Has a fresh, woodsy smell that is very light and nice to be near.Very portable- non breakable containers.No beardruff or scratchiness in dry air area, no super frizzy beard look in humid climates.You will not be chosen for an extra on Duck Dynasty.The oil absorbs well and makes the beard lusterous but not greasy.The conditioner is a cedar like smelling melt -able waxy balm that helps with humidity control and softness. Its great to carry on the go, especially if you wash your face a lot. Your beard will not be stiff. Its also great on eyebrows, mustaches and chapped lips.It does not smell like limes or patchouli.If you are an exfoliator, its very soothing to the skin.It has not given me acne, bumps,or a rash.A man should have pride in his beard, no mater how short or how long, its self expression. A beard should always look groomed and the hair and skin clean and healthy. A well maintained beard is an asset, a scruffy beard can make you look homeless and less than trustworthy.You touch your face, and people touch your face more than you think.I really Like Mountaineer Brand Beard oil- I tried it first and I wash and scrub my face a lot, I wanted a beard that was soft and some of the other oils I tried were oily or smelled weird. This is light and subtle. Its under your nose all day. or near other people, so it needs to be clean and nice and not dry and wiry or greasy.I tried he Tamer on after the application of the oil, giving it 10 minutes while I get ready for work. I walk 3 and a half miles in almost 100 degrees and close to a hundred degrees humidity after a shower. My facial hair arrived at work unfrizzled. After that day, I have a crew cut, and I use the tamer on the ends as well. A little goes a long way. I wash my hair at least twice a day and my face at least 4 times a day , and in this day and age of scrubbing and antibacterial soaps, a beard can look like Brillo. A Brillo Beard is not worth having. No one would want to touch it.Value for the money is excellent. Quality of the product like scent, conditioning, hair control without stiffness, and performance is excellent. A very repurchase-able product, very fast shipping, excellent customer service.

I should start by saying that I am new to this whole beard care thing, so I don’t have much to compare this product to yet. I bought this because it got excellent reviews and the price was great. I received it a couple days before it was expected to deliver, which was a very nice surprise. The smell of the oil is great to me, the smell of the balm is good but I don’t like the citrusy aspect, and the smell (of both) fades very quickly - after about 5 minutes you can only smell it if you intentionally sniff my beard. I don’t care for the balm, it makes my beard feel crusty and like I have product in it; maybe that should be expected but I’m not a fan of that. The balm does tame the fly away hairs better than the couple other balms I have used, but I would prefer a few more fly away hairs to a crusty feeling beard. Overall I am happy with this purchase and will continue to purchase the oil, but I will look for a different balm.

The beard oil is great. Leaves my beard feeling smooth and softer than the wiry mess it is if I leave it unconditioned. The “Heavy duty” balm is less impressive. I have been using the heavy duty WV timber scent balm, which is great. This one in this package is “original” and feels much less strong-hold. Not sure if that’s just the difference in ingredients in the scents, or if they’ve changed their formula across the board, but the difference between the two is striking.

For nearly 2 years my husband has been growing a wild bird (think Duck Dynasty in the making). Up until now I have been anything but supportive thinking he would tire of the rough grizzly thing and shave it off. Recently I realized he really did like the beard and decided to take a different approach and buy him beard oils and supplies to try and tame the beast growing from his face.He used it daily for a week and I was STUNNED at how much the oil and tamer helped. No longer did it look like a wild beast was growing from his chin. He has commented on the smell being strong, but not unpleasant, for a couple of hours after he applies it. Personally I barely notice the smell but I definitely notice the visual change.His beard is still a long way from soft, but I have noticed it is not quite as scratchy as it was prior to using the oils.I'm hoping that with continued use it will become softer
