One Piece: Ace's Story, Vol. 1: Formation of the Spade Pirates (1) (One Piece Novels)

Viz, please add Kindle format to all of the upcoming books. Not sure why part two of this specific story doesn’t have Kindle yet.In any case I bought this to support releasing more of these stories in the West and to support Kindle versions. It is a light novel, not a normal book, so keep that in mind and you will have a great time. The second part of the story is slated for release later this year. If you enjoy One Piece you will probably really like this light novel.

HUGE ONE PIECE FAN! Loved the book!!!! We finally get to read Ace's story!!My only complaint is that it was too short, and that it is paced very quickly. It seems like this series will only be a couple more books at most :(That being said, this book is a word novel, rather than a graphic novel.... But it's AWESOME!!!! The descriptions are fantastic, the prose flows just like a tale from the One Piece universe, it FEELS canon even though it's an addition to the series. I loved reading this book, I found the characters to be genuine mirrors of their canon counterparts, and I loved how another area of the One Piece universe is being elaborated upon and built, just like so many other areas have been in the past.10/10 Would recommend for One Piece fans (especially, especially, ESPECIALLY if Ace is one of your favorite characters!!!!)(Spoiler: There is a character named "Teach" in this book who I thought was Marshall Teach (AKA Blackbeard), but it totally isn't.)

So, I initially bought this without doing much research. Only after I received it did I realize it wasn't from Ace's point of view. It's from his first mates point of view.Also, it's an okay read. It reads as if it was written for a much younger audience which is fine, I have no problem with that, but it became difficult at times to understand what they were speaking about because the writing was mediocre.However, learning more about Ace was what I wanted, and I got just that. You learn a lot about Ace and his crew through this first book. It is only 3 chapters long, it skips through his life quite quickly, but it is full of information.

Ace is still my favorite character and I love that I get to learn more about him. This book was great and really showcases how the Will of D is dangerous. I see why the government is so scared of those with the name that's not on their side. I hope more novels of characters like this come out. The manga already created a vast world. So surprised and happy that Oda still has stories to tell.

To be honest I wasn’t expecting the book to be so thin but other then that it came in perfect condition and I’m happy with it.

A Manga is coming on this one hopefully it will be good.

The book also came a little bent but that's not too surprising since I bought two other things. It's a novel so it's mostly just words instead of manga and pictures for those who may be wondering! Sorry for making the words blurry in that final picture, I can't spoil it for ya! Haha

Love how the light novel also includes sketches of Ace and the other characters in the story along with significant moments from the manga. Definitely recommend for One Piece fans!
