Bigjigs Rail Big Yellow Wooden Crane Construction Play Set with Vehicles & Accessories

I really like the Bigjigs line of train accessories and related products. This shipped from England in record time! I found this on Amazon for an exceptional price after an order on another site fell thru. This Crane construction set is hard to find and was going for nearly twice as much on other merchant sites. I would like to note that my 3 year old plays hard with his toys and this crane was not designed for such play. Despite this fact, it is holding up very well. However, I probably would have put this away until he was a little older. The crane is nice and easy to maneuver. Turning the knob lifts the crane. Another knob pulls it back and forward. The six construction vehicles are really neat and ride on wooden tracks. My son's friend, who is four years older than him, came over two days ago and broke the plastic bracket oh the roller. I was really disappointed because he has broken several toys here. I think he stepped on it because it doesn't seem like the roller would have broken otherwise. My husband glued it back together with some kind of pvc or apoxy. He is really good at mending broken things. Our son isn't destructive, he just plays hard and has a vivid imagination. He likes to play in the dirt, with these and they have held up otherwise. He has gotten one or two wet and it stressed the paint but still very bright yellow. This set also comes with two very durable plastic safety cones and two stand alone barriers that are all wood. Two construction workers--a boy and a girl--teaches children that gender is no limitation. I have used the safety cones and barriers to help my child understand how these things warn if potential danger in real life. All-in-all, this is a nice set.

I bought these for my 5 year old. It’s very durable. He loves them. They fit on the wooden train tracks, too.

Bought to go along w/ son's wooden train table (kidcraft, Thomas and imaginarium) great quality. Bigger than expected. If you have a kid who likes construction vehicles and wooden trains, you can't go wrong with this set.

This was a Christmas gift in 2014 and the crane still gets a lot of play! The crane has held up pretty well considering I have two boys (now 3 & 4.5) - it is a little wobbly where the base and upper part connect, but still works fine. However, two of the vehicles have broken (one lost a wheel and one lost the wood window - just disconnected from the base), so that's why I'm giving it 4 stars. Thankfully my boys care more about the crane then the construction vehicles.

I expected it to be taller. You know little boys want everything to be the 'biggest' and this definitely was not.

This was such a hit the first day. But broke on second day. Just not tough enough for rough little boy. He still asks for it and it just couldn't be fixed.

My son absolutely loves it! We used it on his birthday cake along with construction cone candles. Our boys love playing with it as well with their wooden train set.
