Nicely made wood product but needs modification before using.
Found this to be a very sturdy display case for my Guild semi -hollow body electric. It will also accomodate my Fender Strat. It is not deep enough for the average acoustic guitar, but I don't think it is advertised as such. It was shipped and delivered with no problems, very good packaging. Glass (not plexiglass) door in perfect condition. This is a hardwood (I believe oak) stained, in my case, with a cherry finish. I especially like the locking feature, both closures have locks.I would have rated higher except for the following...The unit arrived smelling strongly of the cherry stain which was used to finish the product. This should dissipate over time. Maybe more of a polyurethane fininsh would have taken care of this. The two sawtooth hangers which were intended to mount the unit were not in my opinion sufficient to support the weight of the unit plus a solid body or semi-hollow electric guitar. To remedy this, I went to Amazon and found a heavy duty two part hanger system from Hangman products. This added another $16 to the cost of the unit. I bought the 30" version, since I cut the pieces to length and plan to use the remnants for other hanging projects (Wall Speakers) I highly recommend this system from Hangman products for heavy mirrors, artwork, shelving etc. Available in different lengths and very foolproof. Even comes with special wallbord mounting screws, and a bubble level, but I used my own anchors and screws and long level to mount the unit. The backing section of the unit as shipped, is stained thin plywood. Again a strong smell. I didn't care for the roughness or the appearance to display my expensive equipment. I bought a remnant of black velvet from Wall Mart, glued it to a piece of the shipping cardboard , attached it to the plywood with velcro strips and voila, the class factor went from a three to a ten. A $5-$8 investment. The unit is shipped with a U shaped plexiglass base to hold the guitar upright. It comes with 2 screws which are meant to attach the unit to the bottom section of the unit's interior. Two concerns.... If you are displaying a guitar which has a strap button or cable input centered on the bottom bout of the guitar, the instrument will not set on the base support without wobbling. You could drill out a 1/2" to 3/4" hole in the base and inset the strap button, but in my opinion, this is still not stable enough to hold the instrument by itself. There is nothing provided to secure the neck or headstock of the guitar from tipping side to side, or worse, falling forward when you open the case. I thought about using a velcro strip attached to the unit's back and secured around the neck of the guitar but thought this would spoil the look of the display. Instead I went back to Amazon and found an inexpensive Guitar Hanger Holder Rack Wall Mount Display for under $10, screwed it through the back of the unit and into the wall, This is a sturdy, adjustable unit which holds the guitar securly without spoiling the view. I still use the provided base to stabilize the guitar, but didn't screw it down.So all told, I spend another $30 ish dollars to make this right. I have experience in building and finishing wood products, like the sturdiness and craftsmenship of the unit, but personally would have spent a little more time and money on sealing the finish. Also, as a guitarist with thousands of dollars of equipment, I did not trust the logistics of displaying my babies.Perhaps the company should hire someone who actually owns guitars to re-vamp the product. If you buy this product, plan on doing a little creative modification on it to make it a viable display piece.

Decent inexpensive guitar display case.
Props for being made in the USA. Inexpensive guitar display case. The packaging was insane. Holy plastic wrap and 27 staples on ONE edge of the box. "Easy box opening instructions" were included INSIDE the case in another football sized piece of more plastic wrap containing the non attached hanger. Aaaaargh. Took me 10 minutes a box cutter and loud cursing to get it out of the box. I honestly thought the number of box staples and plastic wrap was a practical joke at one point. . Only other gripes were the cheap thin plywood backing and having to install the guitar hanger myself. The plywood splintered and the screws stick out enough to destroy your walls but not enough to provide an anchor or any stability for the case. Would not have purchased if I knew this. No instructions or guide holes for the screws. I wanted to unpack, place my guitar inside, hang it up and move on. Not worry about getting a guitar bracket centered correctly and having my wall destroyed by the exposed screws. The wall mounting brackets included are a bit anemic. Again props for making anything in the USA. Design just needs a bit of polish to make it a usable product. Also back off just a bit on the box staples and the plastic wrap.

Good especially for the price
It's a pretty good looking and solidly built unit. The stain is more of a red mahogany than cherry but the picture is a good representation of the color. Except for the plywood backing it's made from solid wood with no ugly finishing marks. I do have a couple of gripes however; mine came with pexiglass instead of glass and the guitar neck hanger it came with was a "U"-shaped plexiglass screwed to a piece of wood. I wasn't keen on hanging my custom shop Les Paul on plastic so I bought a proper neck hanger for it. The hinges are mounted on the outside instead of hidden but they're brass so they don't look bad. Also mine didn't come with any mounting instructions. I would have rated it 3 stars but I gave it an extra star for the excellent price. Overall I'm pleased.

Sturdy and easy to put on display.
I bought this to put my brother’s guitar in, he has been gone 45 years and it is now displayed in my living room. I get so many compliments on it.
