Worked great on worn stirrup leather
This product is applied with a sponge, goes on easily, absorbs, then you wipe off the excess. The stirrup leather looked better as soon as I applied the Neats Foot Oil. Haven't done my boots yet but they are next.

Lexol NeatsFoot formula is best.
Not greasy, quick application on all leather goods, belts, wallets, shoes, boots. Recommend. Favorite of all Lexol's flavors.

Strong solvent smell for many days, very little softening after it dried.
I needed to restore the suppleness to some light-colored glove leather, and figured this ought to do the trick. While still damp, it seemed to help, but as the solvents evaporated away, the leather got stiffer until it was close to being as stiff as it had been to start with. While the solvents were still there, the very pungent aroma they produced kept me from being able to use the items. so they ended up laying on top of the washing machine where at least I wouldn't have to smell them. I won't be buying this again.

:-( Could not restore my favorite leash
My favorite and best English bridle leather leash (no, don't ask how much it cost, but it was more than half a buck) got dragged on a wet lawn last October. Dried it out considerably and it lost its sheen. I've tried Fiebings and now this Lexol Neatsfoot Leather Dressing. The Lexol wasn't any better than the Fiebings. Very disappointing. The only noticable difference was that after using the Lexol Neatsfoot the leash now has an added "bonus." It's now sticky! Yuck. Leash wasn't in bad shape when I started...just a bit dry and dull. There doesn't seem to be a product to restore it, so I think it's time to give up and purchase a new one.

Nice product
I feel it did a nice job on my leather travel bag. It did darken it more than I thought it would, BUT it probably really only brought it back more toward its original color. I don't think I have ever used a leather treatment on it, which is why it had lightened up quite a bit over many years. I am going to use the Lexol on it again today to get a more even color on it. I am happy knowing the nice leather is protected. I would buy more of it.

The Best Leather Conditioner!
Ah Neatsfoot. I have been using Neatsfoot for 4 years now in my vehicles. It leaves a very soft touch to the leather and great scent. You may wonder if it is worth the extra cost and I understand. Let me help by saying I do a ridiculous amount of research on anything I buy, OCD type research.Let me put this way, this is a highly use brand in the equestrian industry and If this product is good enough for multi-thousand dollar horse saddles. Then it is perfect for any leather.

Does a good job softening new leather
But be careful if you are using it on newly dyed leather. I used it on a fresh dyed, but completely dry, piece of veg-tanned leather with contrasting stitching, and it caused the dye to bleed out and discolor the stitching a little. Next time I will use the oil to soften the leather before I do the stitch work.Overall, it's a good product. Veg-tanned leather can get stiff when you dye it and this product does a good job of softening it up.
