Needs to have info on product.** A: It does not need to be refrigerated. We do recommend, though, that you keep the container closed tightly and that you do not pour used bacon grease back into the container. The little pieces of food that mix in with the grease can spoil and contaminate the grease. Hope that helps! **Q: Is it in a plastic container?** A: Yes, it is in a plastic container. I didn’t find the container acceptable at all, but I just poured it all into a mason jar with a screw top. So easy to use and the product is wonderful. I will be buying again. **Q: Is this a product of the USA?** A: Yes it is. And it’s fresh. No rancid taste or odor. I hate having to buy bacon grease but I don’t fry enough bacon to have enough grease with it being just the two of us. And you can’t make good corn bread without it. **Q: Is this bacon grease only? Any preservatives or other ingredients?** A: FROM THE BRAND: (Note that some of the other answers from consumers may include some information that is not quite correct.) Bacon Up is authentic bacon grease. BHA, an anti-oxidant, is added to protect the flavor and is the ONLY thing added to the bacon grease. However, note that the bacon itself may have been cured with any number of ingredients for added flavor, including possibly salt, sea salt, potassium chloride, sugar, brown sugar, smoke flavor, sodium diacetate, sodium phoshates, sodium ascorbate, sodium erythorbate, dextrose, or sodium nitrate. These do not generally pass through to the grease, though, and no carbohydrates, sugars, or sodium are reportable on the statement of Nutrition Facts.
