These fit over your shoes perfectly, the quality is very good and they look durable. If you wear them on dark coloured shoes you can hardly tell you have them on. I have also used them while out hiking and they gripped well on some steep embankments. I tested these at our local indoor ski slope and they work a treat, gripped in the snow and I was able to walk up the slope with zero slippage. Will definitely use for walking in winter.

These are very good for walking on icy lanes but one of them has snapped after one week. Not sure if this is due to excess walking on hard ground (daily for 1-2 hours) but maybe they would last longer on softer surfaces such as snow? I will buy again in case I had a faulty one but if this happens again I will be prepared to pay more and have something that lasted longer.

At first I was worried that it will squash my boot and feel uncomfortable to wear but I was wrong. It is practically invisible on a black boot and very comfy. Easy to put on and it stays on the boot as it was a part of it from the beginning. Very happy, and recommend everyone to get it for the ice days walking. With my apologies to the company, as normally I would contact the company if there is a problem. But in this case, I must make my review public as this product is unsafe. 1) on my very first walk I lost three pins on one and two on the other. See photos. Although they provide spare pins, obviously the rubber holes are too large and so they keep falling off. 2) the metal on the pins must be of a very inferior quality, as it gets filed down very quickly, with the friction of walking, and so they lose their grip. Although most of my walking has been on snow and ice, the metal still got filed. 3) as in the photos, the rubber keeps sliding to one side and so the pins are off centre, making walking uncomfortable. I tried them with two different boots, and the same happened with both. I bought a medium size as recommended, for size 6, but they are still too loose. 4) the pins which are meant to cover the heel, do not do so. See photo. As a result I slipped on my heel in the other boots which don't have much of a tread, and so I can no longer use the grippers on these. 5) the rubber got ripped around one of the holes - as per photo - on my first walk already. 6) because they are loose, twigs and other debris gets stuck between the grippers and the boots 7) the back rubber part that secures the heel, keeps sliding down and I have to readjust it while I am walking so that it doesn't come off - as I have to keep adjusting the whole grippers so that I can get them as centred as possible. Basically, these are unsafe. The design needs changing and also stronger and better quality rubber and metal is needed.

Once you have convinced yourself these work they do a surprisingly good job. Bit fiddly at times, just need to persevere and should be fine.

Moved to write a review on these as they are brilliant. They provide superb grip for winter dog walking on slippery icy footpaths and pavements. I am very tall and usually struggle badly in icy conditions with my high center of gravity and amusingly bad balance, but these are a game changer. Others have reported spikes falling off. This can happen and has happened to me a bit. But if you only wear the spikes when you are walking on actual ice or soft ground then they seem fine. If you walk for miles on concrete pavements then you will of course lose spikes. Fortunately the spikes are easy to get on and off so feasible to attach them as you need when out and about. The size XL set fit fine over my giant size 13 boots.

Ho preso questi tacchetti in previsione del prossimo inverno, quindi ancora non ho avuto modo di provarli sulla neve/ghiaccio. Per quello che posso dire ora sono molto facili da applicare, non sono minimamente ingombranti quindi si possono avere sempre con sé nei giorni di neve ed applicarli nel momento del bisogno. Anche i tacchetti sembrano buoni e sicuramente migliorano il grip dei normali scarponi
