Good stuff maynard!
I bought this to replace a smaller, louder, and broken cheap fan that came with our cookie cutter house. This one met a combo of my needs including name brand with expectations of long term reliability, very quiet, high CFM, and most importantly the low profile to fit in the space I have. The most intimidating part of the installation was cutting the drywall overhead and hoping I didn't make any visual mistakes. I'm not an expert, so I'm not sure how you're supposed to be able to use the external brackets that stick out of the corners for installation after you've already slid the thing into place. I don't have access to the other side of the drywall to put in those screws when I'm standing on a ladder in the bathroom. Perhaps these can only really be used during an initial install and not a retrofit. I ended up just putting some wood screws through the actual metal exterior and straight into the stud. This solution worked just fine and presents no issues. We've had the fan in for several months and it's used daily. Definitely quieter and more airflow than our old model. Would recommend to friends and family without question.

Works well, fairly quiet
Works well, fairly quiet on the high setting. made a huge difference in our bathroom from not having a fan to this one.

excellent replacement unit and quite as well
Great quality, good airflow and very quite. I have ordered a second one for another bathroom! These are really good for replacements for cheap units that come in modular homes that have a tight attic space for install. These units are not greatly heavy making for an easy install.

Some Retrofitting Issues
This is a nice fan for the price. As others have mentioned, it's pretty quiet and moves the air nicely. It appears to be of solid construction and well-designed. Although I was working in a 2x6 wall, it definitely would fit in a 2x4 wall, which is a plus. I do, however, want to give a couple of details regarding retrofitting this unit in place of an existing fan. I was hoping to make this a seamless drop-in replacement for my 8" builder-grade fan by simply enlarging the drywall opening and swapping them out. I encountered a couple of problems, however. First, when mounted in the wall, this fan can ONLY be attached to the stud on the right side of the wall cavity (at least if you want the vent opening at the top anyway). Since my existing fan was screwed to the left stud, I discovered that I would have to remove drywall across the entire wall cavity to accommodate shifting the fan to the right. Upon closer examination, though, it became clear that was not all. You can see in more detail if you visit the manufacturer's web site, that the fan attaches to the stud using brackets that extend above and below the housing. Whereas my existing fan was screwed to the studs from inside the housing (and came out easily without me having to enlarge the existing opening), this one requires an even larger opening to insert the unit and to get tools to the brackets in order to secure it. So, ultimately, I found that I had to not only cut the drywall all the way across the entire wall cavity, but also about 3" above and below in order to access the mounting brackets and to make the electrical and vent connections. This added a not insignificant drywall patch, knockdown texture, and paint job to what I had hoped would just be enlarging the existing cutout to accommodate the new fan housing. Finally, if you're using the oval to round adapter, note that the combined height of the outlet duct and adapter is just over 6ยฝ inches. In my case, that meant moving the whole thing down a couple inches to attach to the exhaust vent, again increasing the size of the drywall patch job. Still, the fan itself is great, and if you're doing new construction or redoing the drywall around it anyway, there are no issues. Just don't assume that you can install this fan in place of another one without patching drywall. It's impossible, because of the mounting design.

Great product!
Works very well and isnโt too loud.

Not quiet in real-life situations.
Quiet when running on a table but any sort of backpressure - like connecting it to a vent pipe - makes it much louder. Tolerable but annoying sound level. Vendor support said I had to use a larger diameter vent pipe without bends in it to avoid the noise so I suppose there are possible building configurations where it will run quietly. Not in my case, however.

Fits in thin space and works well.
Perfect fit for a thin space (4 inches). Replaced an old 8" fan with this new one. I had an old 3" exhaust vent and this fan had a 4"-to-3" converter. I had to cut a larger hole in the ceiling to fit this fan, but no big deal if you can patch/fix drywall. The fan secures to a ceiling joist (beam) on one side and has an adjustable support arm (included) to secure it to the adjacent joist on the opposite side. I cut the hole a little larger on the opposite side so you have room to secure the fan in place between two joists. I gave myself 2 extra inches on one side to secure the support. Fixed the extra 2" hole after installation with some extra drywall I had on hand and textured (get a can of CEILING texture from HD/Lowes - sprays upward) and repainted the ceiling. Looks and works great. The noise level is good for a bath.

Option for vertical in wall mount!!
Bought this for an in wall installation. Requires 4โ mounting depth. 3-1/2โ stud + 1/2โ Sheetrock. Simple to screw into stud and has supporting bracket to mount to adjacent stud. Solid installation. Comes with round and oval vent pipe transition. Simple to connect flexible vent tubing They provide a cardboard insert to cover the fan housing when painting and sanding etc. fan cover is held in place with strong spring clips which allow plenty of wiggle room to cover the housing.

Install took maybe 15 minutes in between floor joists. Sucks air well - and it pretty quite. Would purchase again.

We installed this in our tiny home bathroom 6 months ago, as it was smallest profile we could find to fit in our very compact tiny bathroom and didn't want the ceiling to get any lower to fit a fan. It works incredibly well, fairly easy to install, and incredibly quiet. It was a bit tricky to find a vent to go with the small profile, ended up getting that online as well as we couldn't find a vent locally.

What a difference from what used to be in our bathroom! This fan was a little larger than our old one, but with a little drywall trimming, the install was very easy. After the wiring was completed and everything was ready to go, I flipped the switch and the thing was so quiet that it was almost hard to tell it was even running. A month and a half later, and nothing has changed. I'd highly recommend this fan.
