Review: Perfect for beginners - This book was perfect for my students! We had been learning some basic signs in the prek-4 class and this was a great little gift for my students to have at home to remember and practice some of their signs. It has the word and picture representations so it was easy for them to do on their own or with help. Review: Extremely useful vocab for littles! - We were so pleased with this book, I ordered two more - so that we can all be on the same "page" in teaching our nearly nonverbal 2-year-old more ways to communicate. The illustrations are very clear but what is exceptional is the range of useful vocabulary words that little ones use. For example - hot dog!! Haven't seen that one in any other kid's ASL book :).

a amazing starting book!!
This book serves as an excellent starting point for anyone new to American Sign Language (ASL). I am particularly impressed with the well-organized, informative content and the selection of easy-to-learn signs, making it suitable for both parents and children embarking on this learning adventure together. My own journey into ASL began with the desire to enhance communication with my autistic 2-year-old, and I've already witnessed remarkable improvements in our interactions since we started using the book. For those seeking an accessible and effective introduction to ASL, I enthusiastically recommend this resource. Although I would have appreciated a slightly broader vocabulary, encompassing some of my child's most frequently used words, the availability of complementary videos on platforms like YouTube easily addresses this minor point, allowing for a comprehensive and personalized learning experience.

Great first book on ASL for a second grader
My son initially gave this book back because he said there wasn't an alphabet or numbers included. They are in chapter 8 at the end of the book. Once I showed him, he was really excited and began learning number 6 through 9. My wife and I are so proud of him being interested in language and translation because of the strong and continued need for teachers in every country.

Perfect details
This is the most detail dense and easy to follow correct book I have ever seen over sign language! My friend is a CODA and her parents are deaf so I had her read the book with me and check for errors!

its genuinely amazing.
I struggle with going non-verbal a lot and this book is great for me! I found it fun learning and it really does help when i teach another person who I interact with on a daily basis a few basic signs to help when I go non-verbal. It does help, and it’s amazing! the explanation on how to do the signs are all great and I actually understand what it says. Also the illustrations are very sweet. Each sign has a little mark that says how to remember it by, for example for the sign drink it says “think about drinking out of a cup” ! it makes me remember the signs easier. The numbers are also good! overall 10/10 great for beginner's, and children.
