Great product

Pad has a great feel and wide surface so you can use with with a variety of sizes of bass drums without needing to adjust the beater length (lots of other pads are only for 24" bass drums so you need to adjust your pedal which changes the feel). My drumset is set up in a basement with a cracked and uneven concrete floor, and even with a carpet and the spike screws turned in all the way I was still getting significant side-to-side wobble when playing. I tried shimming the base to correct the wobble, but this caused the spikes to lose contact with the carpet and it would slide backwards with every hit. The solution was simple - just weigh down the back with a concrete block and it is now just as stable as a bass drum.

To start off, I'm going to base this review on the bullet points description of the product given above: 1) 10" diameter pad = Yup, check. 2) Air channel design gives real bass drum feel = Not even close. However, it's very silent and great for practice. Gives a good enough rebound so you can practice, but considerably less than a real bass drum with medium-high tension. Thus, you'll be more confortable when playing a real bass drum. Just make sure to play on a real bass drum often, so you don't forget the feel! 3) 3 large spurs keep the GBDP secure on carpeted surfaces. Yes. these work great. 4) A great add-on for a double bass drum set-up Yes. Works perfect with my DW9000 and also with my Axis Longboard. 5) Pad is high density rubber and has a sturdy no creep base Yes. Correct too. 6) Comparison with the DW Backstage Practice Pad. In my opinion, better than the DW in every way. Cheaper, more silent, more durable, better rebound, sturdier. 7) Final thoughts. This product is far from perfect. However, it's the "least bad" bass drum practice pad on the market. If you're looking for the closest bass drum feel, follow George Kollia's suggestion and just get a mesh head for your bass drum, such as Remo's Silent Stroke.

I got this to get a better feel on my fake Rock Band drums. I am using the ION drum rocker kit with the Rock Pedal. The addition of the beater on my Rock Pedal and the Drum Pad gives the bass pedal a whole new awesome feel. There's now a nice satisfying thump with every hit, which is not too loud, but definitely lets you know it's there. It might be a bit loud for apartments or people who live above others, but on my ground level it's fantastic. The thump also pierces through all the other noise in multiplayer, so you need to be able to keep a beat if you don't want to mess up the rest of the band. The momentum of the beater changes the feel of the pedal as well, and makes keeping long strings of beats much easier. Quick double and triple hits are also easier, but you do need to adjust to them. Great addition of real feel if you can stand the extra sound.

Mine just arrived. Initial impression is that for a kick pad it SOUNDS great. It’s sturdy but I did put a mic stand bass on the back for added stability. That’s not weird or bad you can only expect so much from these kick pads unless you buy the TAMA one for example. I’m using a Trick Dominator & the main beater is center with going as far to the right as possible. The left beater is off center just the way it will be on a real kick drum. No need to freak out about that. So far I like it & this will work for double bass practice just fine.

I have been drumming for alittle over 8 years now and i have been threw a good bit of pads but this one by far is my favorite. On the back side of the pad that you cant see is a spike to put in your carpet, or were ever you desire to. Once that is down and the two silver spikes are down on the side the thing does not move. It of course is not as loud which is very good for nights or if you live in some kind of group facility.The fill of the pad will build up muscle in your legs so it does build some chops. i give it a 5 because it is a great product, Would definily buy it again.

Llegó en excelentes condiciones, y ha resistido muchos dias, entrenamientos de 2 horas a 240bpm sin mostrar señales de desgaste. Lo único malo que podría decir es que se mancha muy rápido el pad conforme lo vas golpeando.

Ottimo per allenarsi con il doppio pedale. Buona risposta sul colpo. Anche se ovviamente la gomma non ha lo stesso feeling o rimbalzo di una pelle originale. Soprattutto abbastanza silenzioso.

Het is een goede trainingsblok maar één ding is spijtig en dat is dat ik nieuwe bassdrum pedaal heb moeten kopen want ik geraakte niet aan het middenstuk.
