Good replacement bulbs
750 lights later these are a great value. So I have an older tree that seems a bit wider and higher quality than what you can buy from big box stores these days unless you spend $400+. With my tree I'm not sure what happened but somehow every single light on my tree, all 750, blew out. Somehow none of the fuses in the plugs had been blown from whatever power surge caused this.So I ended up buying two 400 packs of these lights to try and replace them. After doing about 40 I was ready to give up but my kids for some reason loved this tedious job of changing out tiny light bulbs. With them so excited to do this we spent the next several days and knocked them all out.As you can see in my picture they light up well and look good. Since I was replacing all of them I cant say if they would be the exact brightness of what you may already have but we're happy with the brightness shown here. They dont get hot and havent blown out yet.As far as quality goes I had none that shorted out as I was careful to be sure I had each leg wire separated when putting them in the base. Out of the 800 I bought I only found 4 were broken or missing wires. Given the total amount Id expect a few to be bad so 4 is definitely a good amount.I see earlier reviews talk about quality and after using 750 I feel the quality is there. One thing to keep in mind is to check your cord or use manual to see what the specs on your existing lights are such as voltage. Just because it fits doesn't mean its right for you. I bought these because they matched exactly what my tree user manual said a replacement should be.If you're replacing a lot of lights that match these specifications then I think these will work great for you. Just dont get stuck replacing over 700 like me unless you have a few helpers around.

Worked great for one string of lights - but not another!
I have a 10' string of lights that I bought about 15 years ago. I kept the box and the voltage rating of the bulbs wasn't listed. I also have an 18' string of lights that I bought about 3 years ago and it said 2.5V bulb on the box. Both were made by Holiday Time. Both have 50 bulbs per segment: 120V/50 bulbs = 2.5 volts per bulb. I won't bore you with the lengthy troubleshooting I went through (FYI I'm a retired electrical engineer) but the conclusion is unmistakable: the Mudder 2.5V mini bulbs work great on the 10' string but on the 18' string, the new bulbs are dim. To take Mudder bulbs out of the picture, I took a good bulb from the 10' line and put it in the 18' line: dim bulb. I took a good bulb from the 18' line and put it into the 10' line and it blew out immediately. I see that in the summary of the critiques there were a few more positives than negatives but they were both pretty close to 50% which further substantiates the idea that there are at least 2 different kinds of lines from Holiday Time. I plan on calling their tech support to understand what the difference is and what kind of bulb I need for my 18' line.

Very useful, and easy to install.
I have some old and very beloved strings of Christmas lights that had several individual bulbs burn out. The bases were of a size that was no longer available. These bulbs solved a problem of replacing the bad bulbs by allowing me to use the original bases. All one has to do is to take the bulb apart, remove the glass insert, rethread the wires from the replacement bulb back into the base, and reinsert the bulb.I have read reviews about these replacements burning out quickly, but cannot yet comment on their durability. Hopefully they will perform well next year, when I put them to use again. If they do well, I will upgrade this review to 5 stars.

Is there anything worse that finding a burnt light bulb on a tree?
Is there anything worse than trying to find where the burnt blub is on a string of tree lights. Even worse for a pre-lit Christmas tree. I had some type of brown-out or surge that blew a number of the bulbs in my tree. I had to spend hours testing each and every bulb. I ended up having to replace dozens. It was great to be able to find a good replacement bulb that comes in a good quantity.Pros:- comes in a large quantity- comes in a plastic box for easy storageCons:- noneWould I purchase again: Yes (and I have)

Inexpensive Options to keep your old Incandescent Christmas Lights Working
I’ve resisted going to LED Christmas lights and the newer incandescent lights often only have 3 or 4 inches between bulbs. So these replacement bulbs have been great to keep our older light strings working. It does take some work to replace maybe 50 bulbs per year, so I could this with a nice testing device that often shocks old strings to work.

Make sure these are correct voltage for your light string!
I replaced all the lights in Sponge Bob with these and they seemed extra bright but I thought nothing of it. Then he stopped working after a couple of days and I noticed all the bulbs were blackened a bit due to high heat and four of the 29 bulbs were burned out. Turns out the tag on the plug specifies 3.5V, .56 watts for replacement bulbs and these are 2.5V, .42 watts. I left a 5 star review because all the bulbs worked when I got them but didn't use them for the correct application.

Work but only if replacing all the bulbs that are in series, cannot just replace broken ones.
Edit: I moved the remaining original bulbs all in to the same sections. That left one section with a lot of the dim bulbs and about 10 original that were now super bright. Once I replaced the last original bulbs with the new ones the news bulbs performed the same as the originals. Odd problem to have but I guess a result of cheap manufacturing where there is no standard for 2.5V bulbs. I upped my rating to four stars as they now work but this should really be in some instructions or in the description of the listing. .Have an icicle string with 4 sections of 50 bulbs, so 2.4V each. I replaced about 10 bulbs in two sections, The replacement bulbs light up but really dim. I am going to try putting all new bulbs in one section and joining the old bulbs in the other section, will report back if better results.I also used these on a 24V adapter with 9 bulbs (2.6V each and they worked a charm. Technically they should work fine on 2.4V as well but not so much. So 3 stars.
