love this little burner, I'm buying a second one
Automatic igniting, I use mine in the kitchen. Sadly my new kitchen does not have gas available.. and I love to cook and if you do too, you know you can't cook with electric. no way! so for the first time in my life I decided to try one of these burners out as an alternative for certain dishes that you just have to have real control over temperature for. I LOVE IT.. I have now purchased two, which was my plan assuming the first panned out ok. and I've purchased a stainless steel work table just big enough to keep them both on so I have a sort of gas stove top area now. Perfect work around solution. You can purchase these burners with the alternative hose with them that you can swap out to use those green slightly larger propane tanks with instead as the fuel type. I'm assuming (again im new to these so guessing here) that you would want to do that because they probably burn much longer than the cans that fit inside. If it becomes and issue I'll consider doing that in the future but so far I've gotten I'd say a couple hours and 7 to 10 meal sessions out of each little can and theyre so easy to swap out it only took me a second to swap when I ran out while boiling some pasta the other day, no big deal at all. I've got the gas refill cans on recurring order for convenience. Highly recommend this! They also come with a nice little case to store them in if put away.

It cooks great. High heat over all.
10 year update: still going strong this summer for general camping. I don't use it often anymore because a lot has changed in 10 years, but not by any fault of this product.Original:This product works great and is light weight. Butane is harder to come by than propane these days, which is one inconvenience. But because of this, it houses the fuel canister nicely and more compact than propane systems, and the stove and fuel is less weight to store in a trunk or carry around. The system heats at a power that is pretty high over all. I can manage to simmer once I got used to how it cooks; I found that it has to be so low that it looks almost like the flame is not present or is about to go out in order to maintain a good simmer. Otherwise it boils. I've cooked on all kinds of gas and electric surfaces, which make this easy to get used to. HOWEVER, if you are not familiar with gas stoves, let alone various kinds of camping stoves, the temperature at which this device cooks might be hard for some to accommodate.I use this burner system while tent camping, car camping, at outdoor picnics, and in my studio space. I've cooked and simmered more than ten meals, plus stir fried and steamed at least as many and have not yet had to change the first fuel canister (it doesn't come with the item, but its good to know how far the butane made to fit the burner will go).

Good burner.....but
I bought this burner to replace one we've had over a year. It works as it should but my only two complaints are the lock and unlock switch is harder than the last one and sadly when we set a skillet or pot on it it's lopsided. One of the 4 grills is higher than the other three. So the pot/skillet literally rocks on it. I messed around and waited to long and it's not exchange able. It's our only means of cooking at the moment so can't really go without.BUT I'm assuming I just got a bad one. Other than that, it's a great product.

Great little stove, but don't use with cheap pots and pans.
Works great if you use a cast iron pan or pots with the thick heat transfer plate on the bottom. Cheap stainless pots don't hold the heat well when using this from my experience and take a long time to cook, but when I use with my cast iron frying pan this thing works great. I have also started using this to warm up soup instead of my conventional electric range because it boils the water so quick when used in combo with my stainless pot with the heat transfer plate stamped to the bottom. Stove has lots of built in safety features like overpressure cutoffs and not allowing you to connect the canister when the gas dail is in the open position. I'm not sure why regular cheap pots and pans don't work well on this but I just bring my good stuff now and don't have any problems. I could cook on this everyday. The canisters last longer than I expected. I used it to fry hashbrowns and eggs about 10 mornings and make soup about 5 times before the cylinder finally gave out... cool thing was it seemed to have the same power level and didn't lose heat until it was about a minute from completely going out, so I felt like I got all my monies worth from each can, and not needing to change them early with stuff left in them.

Nice stove
I was happy with this purchase. It lights quickly and easily using its Piezo ignition feature. It puts out a nice hot flame that works well with my cast iron pans. It's less bulky than a two-burner propane stove but flatter and more stable than a one-burner propane stove which has the burner above a vertically placed bottle. It will do well on its own, or as a third burner when I bring the two-burner propane stove. I like how the butane canister fits inside its own compartment on the side. Butane is more available in retail stores now than it was in the past, and is easily purchased through Amazon as well. I would purchase this again. While butane is not as cost effective as bulk propane, for light use it's still economical and more convenient than bulk propane.

Piece of mind
I took a solo camping trip (completely rustic) with the kiddos and it rained and rained and rained. Due to all that wet wood we were unable to cook or heat water over the fire. I attempted to use my husband’s 20+yo Colman stove. It was very difficult to use and unpredictable. As soon as I got home I ordered this. It lights with ease every time and heats water or coffee very quickly. It is compact with a sturdy case which makes it easy to store. There are two negatives that are not worth taking away a star. First, is that with moderate use the butane goes fast. Second, is that I would have really liked additional storage space in the box to hold my current can of butane. Overall I’m very happy, especially with the security of knowing it works with ease every time I need it.
