Great value, and they work!
Perfect replacement bulb! (Remember not to touch it with fingers or look at it when on). At first I thought that I'd use these to tinker around so I bought 3 of the bulbs. I make my own HEPA + activated charcoal filters, save a substantial amount of money by doing so, and thought that I might save on the benefits of UV-C, too. I have purchased other brands of air filters that have UV-C light, they were just designed very poorly. For example, a H0neywell, expensive air filtration machine with UV-C was designed such that the UV did not even hit most of the air; the air all bypasses the area that is lit up. It wasn't cheap, either. (I KNOW!!! That's when I started making my own)! Here is the thing, though. Unless you are already the owner of a power adapter that will provide you with the appropriate input for these bulbs, you aren't ahead any money if you have to go and buy one. Trust me, I checked. Add to that the need to make a safe housing so that nobody is looking at the UV-C and possibly damaging their eyesight, and this is one instance in which do-it-yourself does NOT save $$. So, first I bought the replacement bulbs, now I am going back and just buying the Germ Guardian rather than constructing my own housing, and I am quite happy with that (at this time those are selling for about $35). Perhaps it bears mentioning that these replacement bulbs are also economical, while replacing the ill-designed versions that I have here are not effective or cheap. Those replacements alone cost more than an entire Germ Guardian does- I am not at all pleased and because of that it didn't occur to me when I began this quest that there could be other brands that have better business practices. When the health benefits of UV-C are considered, too, this is one great company. If only they all would provide the win-win of good products at fair prices; it is a true public service. OK, hopefully this helps you with your shopping, especially if you like to tinker, too. There are better things for us to mess with! ;) Let me know if this helped, and enjoy your shopping!

OEM Replacement Bulb
It seems to work okay, but... when you get right down to it, there's really no way to know, right? It lights up, though, and it fit perfectly in my GermGuardian GG1000 . My only complaint is it needs to be replaced every six months, which seems a little ridiculous.

Didn't work
This did not resolve the issue. I want to return but the Amazon website won't allow me to even when the item is still eligible for return. The Amazon website just keeps asking for me to check all possible resolutions. None worked for me. I still can't return it. I now have to go directly to the manufacturer to return.

It's a bulb.
Works fine, but these things wear out much more quickly than I'd like. Decided to just not run mine anymore since the fan bearing also went out and it uses enough electricity that I feel it wasn't worth it anymore. But this bulb itself is fine and gets the sanitizer running again.

Shorter than original but no issue
I've had my three GermGuardian GG1000's going on for about 4 years now and never replaced the bulbs. The UV bulbs seem to have been working throughout the entire time; none burned out. So I never really thought about it even though I did see recommendations for them to replacement every six to eight months. It's been hard to say if they're effective in the first place; I sort of have them as a peace of mind. Recently I read a comment from another reviewer about how they loose effectiveness even if they still seem to be working. So just decided, heck, why not. So I replaced them just now. After cleaning them and opening them up, I noticed one of the bulbs had burn marks. It was extremely easy to open up, twist out the bulb and put in the new one. The new bulbs are a tad bit shorter than the original but fit in just as well. I immediately noticed how much brighter the UV light was. Maybe I'll notice a bigger change in the air quality now. TL;DR: Shorter than normal, and worth replacing even if not following the recommended timeline but very easy to change out.

Perfect Fit - replacement bulb for germ guardian uv plug in
Perfect fit replacement bulb for my germ guardian plug in. Changing the bulb in the unit was pretty easy even though I'd heard otherwise. Remove one screw and the top opens giving access to the bulb inside. Simply twist out the old and twist in the new!

Bulb never worked and can’t return
Bulb did not work at all and can not return. Do not recommend this as a replacement bulb. Not worth the hassle or waste of money

Works great for my GG1100W
It appears there's some variation on what people are receiving, perhaps due to various suppliers, a risk you take on Amazon. I ordered one (although I have 3 GG1100W's) just in case; the one I received appeared to be identical to the ones supplied with my GermGuardian. I'd previously been skeptical about how well they work for odors, since I just didn't notice it before, but one of mine had quit working months ago and secondary bathroom I don't really use, and I walked into it one day and noticed how musty it was, and that my GermGuardian had a red/orange light. Replaced it with one of these, and the next day the mustiness had gone away. Just ordered more for my other units, although I will say one of them still has the original bulb from over 2 years ago and is still working even though the description says to replace them every 6-8 months.
