Since the 1930s, Coca-Cola and Christmas have been synonymous for their magical depiction of Santa Claus in their advertising that were and continue to be popular around the world. Haddon Sunblom’s vision of Santa Claus became the iconic image for Coca-Cola first imagined in 1931 and he continued to produce various versions of his famous Santa in ads until 1964. Coca-Cola continues to use Sundblom’s nostalgic take to this day and has become an international treasure and largely the image that everyone pictures when thinking about Santa Claus. It is incredibly “suiting” for a Hornby Christmas Train Set to depict these classic images of the Coca-Cola logo featuring the white wave as well as Haddon Sundblom’s Santa Claus, the one that he used himself as a model, and the reason that Santa Claus’s belt appears to be backwards, since he was painting himself in a mirror image. Frank Hornby introduced his first toy train in 1920 laying the rail to the company Hornby has become today. Known as Britain’s leading model railway manufacturers for almost 100 years, Frank Hornby had a vision, just as Haddon Sunblom, that is now a treasured toy that has become synonymous with the Holiday Season and wouldn’t be the same without a train set running around the Christmas Tree.

Review: Nice train set for a beginner - I purchased this set for the base of my Christmas Tree and I am quite pleased with the set. It was easy to assemble the track and to mount the engine and cars into the track with the provide setting tool. The controller is fine for this beginner set, but I hear that the other controllers offered by Hornby would cause to train to run quieter though for me it is not a problem. The paint quality of the engine and cars looks fantastic in person and Santa on the side of the box car look great, looks to be a transfer decal that was well placed on both sides. Axles and rolling assembles all are in fine working order and the tracks slide together easily though with some tight connections to ease together. The track to track transitions are smooth if you take the care to set them evenly together. I will be looking into adding more cars and track expansion sets to this model as time progresses but for now I am very happy with my first Christmas display train set. Nothing is more classic than Christmas trains and the Coca-Cola Santa images. Sorry for not having a photo with the tree set up as I wanted to have a test run of the set before going through the trouble of working around the tree.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice train set for a beginner

I purchased this set for the base of my Christmas Tree and I am quite pleased with the set. It was easy to assemble the track and to mount the engine and cars into the track with the provide setting tool. The controller is fine for this beginner set, but I hear that the other controllers offered by Hornby would cause to train to run quieter though for me it is not a problem. The paint quality of the engine and cars looks fantastic in person and Santa on the side of the box car look great, looks to be a transfer decal that was well placed on both sides. Axles and rolling assembles all are in fine working order and the tracks slide together easily though with some tight connections to ease together. The track to track transitions are smooth if you take the care to set them evenly together. I will be looking into adding more cars and track expansion sets to this model as time progresses but for now I am very happy with my first Christmas display train set. Nothing is more classic than Christmas trains and the Coca-Cola Santa images.
