Okay headphones but there are better options.
These were a replacement for an aging pair of Hyper X Cloud Stinger headphones with a failing mic. My little brother has gotten a lot of use out of them and enjoys them very much.Build quality/Comfort:They're lightweight without feeling flimsy though they do squeak a bit when flexed. They're decently comfortable with soft spongy padding that is stiffer on the ear pads to keep the drivers from pressing on your ears. The headband has a fairly wide range of adjustment for a variety of head sizes and locks solidly. After ~6 months of daily-driving neither the padding nor adjustment mechanisms show any significant wear.Aesthetic:This headset looks nice without appearing overly gamer-y. It's all-black design and lack of RGB make for a nice understated look.Audio:The audio quality is "as expected" for a gaming headset at this price point. Certainly not the worst I've heard but not fantastic either. The audio is very flat and somewhat hollow sounding but may present a better soundstage if the other option is earbuds and will give more detail than laptop speakers. The included USB DAC is nothing to write home about, but it might a better alternative than the onboard sound of some computers especially those with poor or non-existent front audio.Mic:The mic serves its purpose well enough and maintains acceptable quality as long as you're not eating the mic. The boom is nicely flexible but also holds its position well, it is not collapsible but is removable if you intend to use the headphones outside of gaming.Features:There is a dedicated mute button for the microphone and a master volume knob which are nice features to have. The audio cable is appropriately long for plugging into a laptop or the front panel of a desktop but is not long enough to reach very far under or around a desk to get to other headphone jacks/usb ports. The cable is not sleeved but feels premium and does not easily kink or tangle. The iCUE configuration options are limited but do allow you manage and modify the built-in EQ presets as well as add your own. These profiles can be switched automatically if there are other corsair peripherals connected and a profile-switching button has been mapped. Otherwise the profiles must be switched manually from within iCUE.Conclusion:They are a decent entry-level headset from a reputable brand. However, if you have some extra budget I'd probably go for something a little better especially if you can buy decent headphones and an external mic. E.g. Monoprice Modern Retro headphones and an Antlion Modmic would blow these out of the water for about $75, or $100 if you upgrade the headphones with Brainwavz ear pads. In general, my feeling is that audio equipment should be handled by audio companies but if you MUST have to have an all-in-one solution for gaming you could certainly do worse.

A nice durable tight budget gaming headset
Due to the material used on the ear cups, there is not much of that “ noise cancellation “ although there is some in there I’ll tell you that. For $40 and it’s Corsair? This is almost a bang for your buck. Sound quality is alright although the bass is barely there but I’m sure none of us is going to use this for music as this is a gaming headset. I have a big head and this fits perfectly on my head and it fits over my ears which I would say unlike the most headphones I had to deal with this never hurts when I take it off my ears after 5 - 7 hours of gaming. Sound quality of the microphone is nice, if you have one of those slip on wind screens for the mic it makes it much better if your a mouth breather or something. Around the headphone material it’s all or most of it is plastic but still feels quite durable for many years to come. I’d highly recommend this device if your on a tight budget for any gaming system. I’d like to add that for PC uses, USB connection is the way to go for this one.

Great headset
I would like to start this off by saying I just bought this as a replacement for my Astro A10s that messed up after a month.I use these mostly for work and light gaming so I use for them about 9-10 hours a day and I recently had the HS35s for about 2 years.I love the HS45s. A little heavier of a headset, but feel quality and not cheap.I love the tactile mute button on the back which I can easily reach back and see if it's muted or not by feel.Quality is amazing for the price. (Don't expect them to be on the same quality as a pair of 500 dollar Sennheiser headphones, but they are awesome for the price)

Bad Mic quality & Bad Headband flexibility
Bought one as a replacement for my old headset since my main one was starting to get worn. As soon as I put it on all my friends told me there was a big drop in my mic quality. They could barely hear me most of the time and there was little I could do. A little while after that (2 months) the headband gave out and snapped. Since its plastic, there is not much flexibility at all and feels very delicate to bend. Sometimes the headset would even go out and I have to unplug and re plug it into my PC. The audio quality itself is good-ish (a bit muffled) but there are better headsets out there for the same price.Shoddy mic, Bad plastic headband, and decent audio6/10One Year Update:Now randomly the headset starts sounding robotic randomly around every 2 minutes. After a while it goes away but it is slightly frustrating sometimes when listening to voices. Although its cool when you listen to some songs, its not really a helpful/controllable feature.

Good overall
The surround sound is good, but not always perfect for games. It could be me, that is hard to pinpoint a direction a noise is coming from. Everything else is fine, except the microphone gives my voice a low volume, so I need to speak up to be heard. There is no microphone boost either, which is frustrating.

Great for the price, finicky USB
Great headset with incredible sound in game for the price. Equalizer in software helps with it being too bassy for HiFi listening, but these are no audiophile phones. Not what I bought them for, so no sweat. My main issue and reason for 4 stars is that it regularly needs a USB disconnect and reconnect on restart. This could just be my cursed gaming machine, but it seems a lot closer to a software issue to me. Either way, easy enough solution that it's not a huge issue for me. But it does mean having the USB connector on top of my machine instead of in the back for convenience.Overall though, fantastic for the price, and more durable than my last Razer cans.

Decent headphones, but needs equalizer
I've used this headset for a good 50 hours of work calls, music and gaming. It works well for all of that.As far as I can work out, based on the specifications on the Corsair website, these have the same drivers/speakers as the more expensive HS60. I'm assuming the difference is that the HS60 has a nicer headband and better microphone. The default sound quality is really quite poor to my ears. Sounds a bit like listening with your head underwater - everything seems distant and boomy, with sounds blurred together. I was slightly shocked at first, given the cost. I tried the iCue software from Corsair, but that doesn't seem to offer any useful equalizer settings, just some generic 'even more bass' type presets. So I used that to switch on surround sound and then uninstalled it.Instead, I installed PEACE (search for "peace equalizer") and used that to reduce the level of the lower frequencies. Total transformation! The default just has the bass pushed up way in a way that distorts the whole sound output. It doesn't just make it more bassy, it actually distorts it, and that applies equally to bassy electonica, jazz or classical, so it isn't just my music tastes. With a better balanced default I can now push the bass back up in my music player if I want and I keep the good sound quality. The microphone is a little tinny and has no soft cover, so is vulnerable to being breathed on, but it works fine. I have no issue with conference calls. It is certainly easy to adjust and can be unplugged. I don't think you could easily fit a generic boom microphone into the slot so when/if it dies I'll be relying on Corsair still selling spares. I find that if I put it down between my chin and mouth, it avoids breathing noises and gives decent volume. The volume drops off quickly when I move it further away but that means it's pretty good at isolating my voice from background noise, so is a reasonable compromise.I prefer a wire to vagueries of wireless connections and batteries. This one is a decent length and is fairly thick/robust feeling, though I wish it wasn't moulded into the headset because I expect it is the part that will fail first and then I'll want to be able to replace it. The USB connector is useful on my desktop, but I have no spare ports on my laptop so use the 3.5mm input. Both methods work fine on Windows 10 with no drivers needed (or maybe they just install themselves silently).I wear this headset for >6 hours a day and have no issues with comfort. All in all, a great headset for the price. Just a shame they got so carried away with boosting the low frequencies as default.

Juste trop bien 👌
