If the head is under 10mm diameter it will work. **Q: Will this work with roofing nails?** A: I don't think so. **Q: Can this be used to sink nails in deck boards that are pulling out over time? I have a bad back and need to sink a lot of nail heads while standing up** A: You could use it for that application, but you would need to be sitting down. The Longhammer is not long enough for that use standing up. I would recommend the medium size Longhammer. The XL is for flat head nails.
