Beep function not good for the hearing impaired; otherwise a good item.
I have hearing loss. The beep is VERY low (so I’m told). After I called Braun customer service I decided to keep it.The directions do not tell you how long to press the start button. Customer service told me that you press and release the start button quickly, but keep the ear probe in your ear for at least 3 seconds. A good feature is that even though I can’t hear a beep, the thermometer keeps the last recorded temperature in its memory. So after it turns off you can press the start button again to verify what the previous recorded temperature is. THIS is why I decided to keep it. I had wondered how I would know if the device read correctly or if it was working properly. Being able to check again gives me reassurance that it is working properly. That and comparing it to a digital, oral thermometer if I want extra reassurance.

Very disapppinted!
This thermometr by. Braun I thought would work really welll being it has thte name behiind it. I have cancer and Pneumonia 2x’s within a 4 month period so i needed a thermometer that I could count on. I am not joking when I say we have tried just about every one there is and unless we arre stupid and don[t understand how these work we always had the same “fever” as each other. The tempeture never changed. Not true the few times it did we would then do my husbands and his would be the same as mine and he wasn’t ill. Yet when I got to the doctor orhospittal they all have these and they work fine. For them. I am supposed to be keepiing a journal of my tempeture yet unless I get the one for my butt I dodn’t know what kind i am going to be able to use Don’t bother wastting. Your money on the name. Braun makes good produccts but dropped the ball on this one.

Not as great as the older model
We bought this brand coz we had a great run with our older version that worked for more than 10 yrs for us. This newer mode doesn’t work as well. More difficult to take temperature. Not user friendly
