Excellent Resource for IT Professionals
The information written in this book is considerably easy to understand and contains a lot of good information to help individuals who want to become PC Technicians and Help Desk Specialists.

The Pentium 3 has 370 pins.
This book contains a great amount of information for the price. I didnt buy it to take the A+ certification really, so i can't speak on how well it prepares you for the exam. I already work in IT and I more wanted to round out my own knowledge, and it's done a good job of that. The main problem I have with it is that I get the impression it was written 20 years ago, and they've just added to it over time without making any meaningful cuts. You'll find modern information, but you'll also find absolutely archaic stuff too, and only sometimes does it acknowledge that the form factors and protocols being discussed are old. It's like in parts they made the clarification "this is rarely used today" and in other parts they didnt bother and they discuss all the different types of VGA outputs as though it was still a modern and widely used standard. Again, I dont know if this matters for the test. Maybe you DO need to know how many pins a Pentium 2 processor has, but I doubt it and hope not. The book emphasizes that this is important to know. More information isnt bad, and knowing the past and how we got to today is good, but it's mainly a stylistic thing that bothers me because it comes across as lazy when it doesnt clarify what is and isnt more relevant to today. And again, sometimes it does make that distinction, and sometimes it doesnt. It doesnt take away a lot, which is why I still give it 4 stars, but it bothered me enough that I had to talk about it.

If you are looking to get certified but come from a non technical background like me this is the book for you. It is written in a way so it is easy to understand and educate. I highly recommend this book.

Now I just have to read it!
Borrowed this from the library to study for one of my exams...decided that I needed one of my own...good price for the amount of info in the book...you can get a digital copy but there is just something that sticks w/ me more when I highlight it in a book...the library frowns on me highlighting in their books (LOL)

I have learned a lot about computer hardware
I have read an older book from comptia which I enjoyed on the A+ Certification. The A+ for dummies was explained in an easier way for me to grasp i am updating my computer s and I am enjoying the read.

Really clear and easy format. This version is out of date now but I presume there’s an up to date version. So glad I bought it, it got me through my CompTIA+ exam first time. Sadly the Labs didn’t work but I don’t know if this was because of the version being out of date

Excellent book. Every detail is there. Very good book but access to web page to register is non-existence. Very disappointed at this as I was eager to try & test my knowledge virtually. 10/10 for book 0/10 for web.
