I realize they say 36months but I'm not seeing any other brand of magnets for babies** A: Yes! I put them low on the side of the fridge and my son sat on the floor there to play with them while I did stuff in the kitchen. Great buy for a 9 month old! **Q: Is the whole back covered in a magnet or is it just a small button magnet glued on?** A: The entire piece is a magnet with glued on paper pictures. I would have to say at least 5 pictures have now come off. If your child likes to put things in their mouth wait a while for these. **Q: Are the tops covered in paper?** A: No, it seems they are almost painted or printed on the wood. Really good quality and my 17 month old loves them! **Q: Do these magnets stick to each other? My son likes to pull them apart.** A: They do not stick to each other. I purchased a large magnetic bulletin board to rest against the wall, rather than having her play in front of the refrigerator.
