Probably would work great to help with ingrown facial hair due to shaving since it helps exfoliate dead skin cells. **Q: will this fully clear my acne up like pimples and blackheads and how long should i use this for?** A: Try a 2% or so salicylic gel that you leave on. Like the paula's choice gel (not the liquid version, which i ordered by mistake and rethrned). The paula's choice also exfoliates, so i recommend that instead, or after, if not satisfied with this product after purchase. You have to give acne products at LEAST a couple of months to see the difference difference though, so better off starting off with a quality product that does more for your money. Also, truskin has a vitamin c serum that helps heal acne scars and moisturize your skin. Vitamin C really helps. This is just for exfoliation but the ingredients are great for acne. I bought this in august 2018 and still have the bottle since i mostly washed with benzoyl peroxide to kill the acne causing bacteria. **Q: Can this be used as an everyday cleanser?** A: If using for acne and you haven't been using any products with salicylic acid recently, this will make you break out for a couple of months before it gets better. This is true of all acne products, and it's worth it in the end. If you discontinue use and restart, the same thing will happen, so just keep that in mind. But yes, it's a great everyday cleanser for exfoliation, if you can handle it. Try 3 a week or every other day first to avoid irritation. **Q: What percentage of salilcylic acid is in this?** A: I just looked at my bottle and noticed they don't list the percentage which is odd. Right now, I'm following the directions for the 5-7 days of use to prep for my at home peel, which will be tomorrow. My skin is no stranger to chemical peels. I usually go to an anesthetist to get mine done professionally but I'm currently going to an accelerated nursing school which doesn't allot enough time for me to stay home for the healing process. So, this is a great product to manage my skin in between treatments. My skin clogs easily so, I needed something to facilitate removal of the all the dead skin keeping the bacteria inside the pores to wreak havoc. It's too early to tell but so far, I have had no bad reaction to it. And I have sensitive skin. No new pimples have emerged. Prior to using, I had hormonal pimples around my chin and also had a weird reaction to something which caused tiny pimples around my cheeks and forehead. Made me have sandpaper-like skin which clear from afar but looked very rough in the sunlight and up close. I feel like this product helped smooth it out by sloughing off all the skin keeping those little buggers in and also flattened out those hormonal pimples. My face looks a lot brighter too. My only quarrel with this product is that, it doesn't lather as much as I want it to so I wash my face with a simple face wash for sensitive skin before using this product. Salicylic acid penetrates better anyway when there is less oil on the face so in my opinion, I feel it would be fore effective to wash before using it. I know what you're thinking. Cleanse your face before you cleanse your face?? That's crazy talk! It gives it that clean feeling. And of course, moisturize after!! I usually use this product once daily at night and use a moisturizing serum afterwards. I also use the St. Ives face scrub in the mornings to scrub off the dead skin that the salicylic acid dried out... But I scrub ever so gently! Don't want to anger the face.
