Got my mower running in no time

Spark plug was way to small

I bought this for a cheap fix on a free riding mower my neighbor kindly gave me. It worked great that season and I didn't originally install the stop valve. It sat winter with only a small amount of stabilizer treated fuel. Cut grass next season once and parked in garage. Next week I went to cut, my crankcase was filled with fuel. The carb developed a leak over one season. I don't think it's worth taking apart to see why, so I installed the stop valve, close it when I'm done mowing, and let it keep running until it dies so no gas can leak into crank case. Kind of a hack work around for a cheap carb, but I guess I got what I paid for.

All things considered, this is a good little kit. Mine came missing the little set screw but I just used my old one. The company offered a partial refund because it was missing, so I’d say it’s good service and a good deal overall.

Carburetor seems good. However, the air filter is too tall. Which is pretty inconvenient

This carb did not come with the correct linkages to exactly replace the old one. I had to swap out the throttle and choke shafts to get it to hook up to the governor properly. Also, it arrived damaged, the throttle shaft was bent but since I had to replace it, it was not a big deal. The carb runs on the lean side so you will have to adjust the pilot screw out a cosiderable amount. In the end, it did run the engine but this is not a drop in replacement.

Bought for a 12.5hp briggs and stratton flat head engine, the air filter is too tall it's almost as if it's for a 14hp ohv? Not sure but I'm gonna hold on to it incase. Spark plug looks to be the size of one for a 3.5hp, but despite that everything else in the kit is of good quality and the carburator is very close to oem almost exactly a clone. My oem walbro even after a soak in cleaner, a jet a seat and a new needle valve still wouldn't run without surging. This carb I put it on, stole the idle air mix screw from my walbro because the one that comes with this does not have a slot for a screw driver, and fired that thing up and it ran like it just rolled off the storeroom floor. So all in all, 3 stars on the kit, 5 stars on the actual carburator itself.
