EberlestockDagger Hydro Pack

I have owned high-quality US-made Camelbak hydration packs in the past. I've used Platypus bladders in hiking packs. While those are both high-quality, I prefer the Eberlestock. The Source bladder is all-around better than Camelbak or Platypus bladders. The pack materials are almost as high-quality as the Camelbak pack. The ergonomics and heat dissipation / airflow are far better on the Eberlestock.One thing to note: Both the straps and even the waist belt should fit a pretty hefty person in winter clothes. I am 6'6" / 300 and it fits me acceptably well.There are two things that are a disappointment:1. Most hydration packs have a small drain hole for the cargo pocket. This one does not. If you're a little sloppy in filling, you'll end up with a cup of water just sort of sitting in the bottom of the pack. Do not put unprotected electronics down there.2. Source makes a great adapter that allows filling a bladder through the hose from a faucet, spigot, or filter. Eberlestock seems to have included some sort of cheaper OEM setup that does not include the necessary Source QD.

The product is good and we are satisfied with the service here.

Solid water pack. Material is quality and durable

Very happy with my purchase. The bag is top shelf. I own several Eberlestock items and all of them have exceeded all expectations.

Eberlestock has great build quality and materials but there’s always some kind of baffling design decisions that end up being a dealbreaker for me.This is a small pack to begin with made to carry a bladder. The MOLLE on the face of the pack would’ve been useful to mount additional tools or equipment but it’s unusable because it’s used to piggyback this pack to a larger host pack, but backwards. Backwards is a big problem because now the shoulder straps and sternum strap create multiple snag hazards when moving, along with the various d-rings and miscellaneous webbing. It also looks silly and you can’t access the interior compartments.And you also need to remove the buckles, run the webbing through the host, reattach them and why? They could’ve easily put attachment points on the rear of the pack like every other design of this type does but Eberlestock seems to go out of their way to do things the wrong way which really hurt the usability, if not outright ruin, their expensive products.
