Perfect alternative!
I have a Canon M50 Mark II and I wanted to buy a lens hood for the kit lens. I have googled everywhere to find dirty cheap hoods but they were all too 'cheap' as expected. I took a risk and ordered this one. It is a perfect match! I love it!

Not as great as other JJC lens hoods (at least the one I received)
I purchased JJC lens hoods before and they are fine; I still use them without problems. Not this one: it hardly fits my kit lens that came with my Canon EOS M50 - the EF-M 15-45mm. Eventually, after some effort, I could turn the hood 90° and lock it somehow for shooting. Normally, the lens hood can be turned 180° (towards the camera) to reduce the length of the lens barrel plus hood for storage in the camera bag; again, I had difficulty fitting the hood and locking it. Maybe my copy has some defect.I'm not using the kit lens too much and I will use the lens hood even less, but it is disappointing that JJC has some quality control issues that I didn't expect.

May damage the front bayonet of the Canon RF-S 18-45 lens
There is a manufacturing defect that makes it very difficult to install or remove from the lens. It can be installed if you force it, but it creates way too much stress on the lens bayonet. I returned it and bought the original Canon hood for $28.

Too tight
It fits, but I have to use force to turn it into the locking position or turn to the other way to unlocking it, which is not right. It concerns me if it will damage the lens itself.Look closely to the locking mechanism, there are 2 clips. One can move back when pressure is applied, but the other doesn't. I think that is what causes so hard to turn.Other than this, the quality is decent. At the end, I returned it.

Clean fitting, no rough edges, secure fitment
This fit to my lens perfectly. It was not loose and did not bind when threading into place. The lens is protected and shaded as expected. I am glad I bought this to protect the kit lens on my brand new Canon M50 MkII.

The JJC Camera Lens Hood does the job as expected
The main purpose of a lens hood is to shade the front of your lens but the extra benefit is in protecting your lens from scratches and other damage. The JJC Camera Lens Hood fits really well and the price was right. Recommended.
