I bought this book because the author had a lovely write-up in Cape May Magazine and I knew she liked the surrounding beaches
This book is for dead beginners, who else needs to be taught "wear waterproof shoes" to go SEA glass hunting.I bought this book because the author had a lovely write-up in Cape May Magazine and I knew she liked the surrounding beaches.Page 53 has a photo of a concrete ship that was towed to that spot in 1926 and got stuck in sand. The author says it is a shipwreck and may be a source of sea glass. If she had bothered to read the sign or ask anybody in town, she would have found it was completely stripped before being towed there. It's a very interesting story but not a ship wreck by any stretch. And a bit disingenuous.I would not recommend this book to anyone. If looking for a wonderful book all about where our glass comes from and how it gets there, but Pure Sea Glass by Richard LaMotte. My first sea glass book and still the best.

Nicely done photos and beginner information
This is a good book for beginners or amateurs. I was hoping for a little more information regarding glass origins and beaches throughout USA. Nice color photos. Book is well done. Missed my expectations according to book description which is what I went by.

Very interesting...wanted more. 😆
I really enjoyed reading Cindy's book. I love sea glass and have done a lot of beach walking looking for treasures. I loved the photos and liked the fact that the author did her own photography.I was surprised to see that the personality traits described for me, with my fondness for aqua colored sea glass, was right on.Thanks for a nice read...would have loved more.

A valuable guidebook for "sea glassers"
This is an excellent guide to the hobby ! The author includes all aspects of hunting for sea glass, even what to wear and how to cope with competition on the beach. It is more geared to northern US beaches than southern, but overall has lots of good advice and information, plus lovely photos. It is also very reasonably priced. A great addition to a sea glass library !

Good book on sea glass collecting
I enjoy reading through this book and looking at the pictures. I didn't give it 5 stars because the author doesn't explain what some of the pictures represent. Price was low so it was worth buying.

My favorite book.
Bought two other seaglass books before this because the reviews were not very good. This turned out to be the best. I only started two years ago but it has become a passion and I really loved this book.

Good information for beginners or anyone interested in sea glass
I just started collecting sea glass. The Official Sea Glass Searcher's Guide helps explain what is sea glass and how to tell if sea glass is real or not. Good information for beginners or anyone interested in sea glass.

Dissapounting
Although she dedicates the book to her mother talking about "all the scrapes" they got into while hunting seaglass, there are no personal touches in the book to bring it alive. The photos are beautiful, but largely un-captioned, and the useful information could have been fitted onto three or four pages. Not good value for money I'm afraid.
