Own A Dozen and Love Them - Ordering More
I have four of these on a huge 250# wrought iron bird cage (63# load each), four on a fermenting chest freezer (60# load each) and four on a draft beer serving freezer (94# load each). All roll around smoothly on both my hardwood and tile floors. The bird cage gets pushed through the laundry room (over two tall thresholds) and out the back door daily, onto a rough concrete patio. Each of these items has two 3" plain swivel casters in the back and two 3" locking swivel castors in the front.12 months of use on the bird cage and 6 months of use on the rest. No flat spots. No bracket bending. No grinding of bearings. No wheel lock breakage. No trouble at all.Just ordered six of the 4" versions (three locking, three plain) to upgrade my draft beer serving freezer and expecting to put no less than 115# on each one (estimated finished weight 687#). 4" because I want the taps higher taller this time and 6 of them because I can't build a 2x4 frame strong enough to span the whole length of the freezer. Otherwise, I'd trust the weight on these castors.Only one downside to these, as with most other castors: they're designed to have the bolt head on the underside of the castor, tightening with the item up-side-down. I use these on wood frames, which makes it much easier for me to use carriage bolts (pointing downwards), so I have to put the nut on the underside of the castor plate. This means I have to saw-zall the fastening bolts close to the nut so the castor can swivel without striking them.

Nice Wheels, Great Value
I needed some larger diameter wheels, with greater capacity. I also was intrigued with the locking assembly and load capacity was more the double what I needed, and it fit my budget for the job.Great galvanized assembly, ball bearing in the mounting plate give them the a shot of lube ,because I am using it mainly on carpet and special floors, I used a non melting lube, this is a very well made product, the wheel themselves look like they came out of a dirty mold, but nothing to interfere with performance. The inside of wheels have needle bearings, and are greased, so smooth operation @ heavier loads should be fine. The locking mechanism is spring steel bit, it will take a while to evaluate. The 4 stars is I had a noise in one, not a big deal I knew it was something with the sleeve the bolt slides through, upon examination the material had a seam for better lack of word, I took my rotary grinder, 1 second later I cleaned it out with a swab and shot in some WD 40. Otherwise I would have gone for 5 stars good product , good price and a higher capacity. I got it with Prime in 2 days, which is fine except for small glitch. They look so good may have to have cabinet painted.

Unexpectedly Excellent
I read all of the reviews for these casters, before I ordered four of them a couple of weeks ago. Earlier this week, they replaced some smaller ones on a storage cabinet that also serves as a tool stand for some bench-top tools in a cramped and cluttered shop. The point here is that the casters are used on a platform that can be moderately heavy and that gets moved around a lot where maneuvering is difficult. The old casters required me to "man-handle" the cabinet, but now it rolls and changes direction very easily. The "on" and "off" positions for the levers that operate the brakes are definite and are easily set with a toe, at least for my "shop-boots", which are moderately large for a woman. With the mounting plates installed about 3/8" behind the front edge of the cabinet's face-frame, the levers for the front casters just clear a 1/2" thick, surface-mounted door. The brake release end of the lever is pretty snug for these, but they have thus far clicked off without a struggle. Braking just two of the four casters eliminates rolling as an option. These casters are so good -- I think they really do deserve the five stars I gave them -- that I have to wonder if the manufacturing quality is variable, and the minority of reviewers who were unhappy with them got some from a bad batch. Nevertheless, I am about to order four more for another cabinet that is a lot more difficult to move around. I will definitely modify this post if any of the new casters don't live up to my now higher expectations, so after another week or so, no news is good news!

Very good for the price.
These are not the best you can buy: but they do not cost what the best costs either. They are made in China so in some ways lack real serious quality.Even so, if you have a light load, and not extra heavy use, these will serve you well. The brake seems to work well too.So far I have been satisfies enough to buy a second batch of them. I bought them twice, and my current use under my work bench is doing well. These are well worth the price.UPDATE: What I said above has been tested now.Part 1: I built a 200# 4ft. X 8ft. plywood work table and installed 6 of these assemblies to make it light and easy to roll. Loaded it is about 250 to 300# max. The wheels can't handle it well at all. The problem is not the wheel itself, it is the chincy metal materials they used. Soft, flexible, and bends rather than turn on the rollers, even on a flat new cement floor. Sad. Data: 300# by 6 rollers = ~ 50 # each loading.... pretty over rated huh?!Part 2: I made a small cabinet for the Sander I bought on Amazon, and I used 4 rollers to ease the locating of the tool in my shop. Weighs total about 100# with the sander: works perfectly. DATA: 100# by 4 wheels = 25# per wheel. Obviously, typical China Junk.... very overrated. Listed to handle 220# loads each, and at 50# each they begin to fail.Derate them by about 400% and you are just about right. If you must have 50# or more on them the metal is just tooooo soft & cheap. Otherwise, just great.

Twirl and roll easier
I love the smooth rolling action. Not sure if that's all because of the bearings, or for the red tire material. Locks work/hold as required, and engage, disenge smoothly. Swivel action is smooth. Recommend.
