I hope by now you got it taken care of. I have 3 lume cubes. 2 are 2.0 and 1 is the original... The magnet mount frame goes on with a lot of force. One edge has a curve in it. That is the side that that goes to the bottom where the 1/4 screw mount is. Put the frame to the front as flat as you can and using a massive amount of force it will snap on. All 3 of mine was like this. Every time I thought I’m going to break this. But you won’t. Once you put it on there is no need to ever take it off. Leave it on even when your not using magnetic mounted filters or barn doors. I found a 750 Lumen light with multiple magnet mounts, hooks, water proof, laser pointer and it charges my iphone for about $35. Made by a company called NEBO, look it up. It is a small unit and for close objects/people it's fine and quite bright. Some of the reviews seem to think it should have searchlight ability! Others returned it as they couldn't fit the filter holder. I had the same problem at first-it was initially very hard to fit but it did eventually go on- so persevere. You do want it to be a firm fit when in use. Three times put into water, once into a fish tank when it was new to test it, twice into a garden pond at a depth of about 1ft for about 20min. After retrieving it from the pond it had a dead battery, plugged into charge and the rear cover was tight and hard to open so should be water-tight. The charging port was dry. Charged it, it works but when I look at the front its 1/3 full of water. Its supposed to be waterproof to 30ft! Maybe I am just unlucky but it's disappointing. It isn't cheap and to fail so soon is not impressive.
