Serves its purpose well
I bought two of these for each of my porch to keep the chickens off the porch, and it works perfectly. They were very easy to install (like 2 minutes). They are a little flimsy, and my doberman just pushes it open if he wants out, but we didn't buy it to keep him in.

Easy to install and use!
Bought three of these to gate off various areas of our home to keep our dogs where we want them to be. Granted, our dogs are small (12 and 18 lbs) and are afraid of gates, so they don't throw themselves at them, but we needed something sturdy and easy to use. These absolutely fit the bill! (I would not recommend these for large dogs or dogs who actively try to push against gates.)These installed very quickly and were easily done by one person. They can easily be operated one-handed and are very light; click the latch, lift up, slide the gate back (collapse it narrower). To close, align the bottom hook before the top, and you're set. My wife, who has tendon issues and arthritis, finds them very easy to operate. We've had no issues using them in any way.THE BEST PART - they can be opened from either side and can swing 180-degrees, depending on your door opening. This allows us to block off two openings with one gate, depending on what we're doing, which is a perfect solution for us.ONE CAUTION - they do not collapse smaller than the main plastic bar at the top. In other words, you need to be able to swing the gate out of the way in order to pass through the door - you can't squeeze it narrow enough to reasonably walk through a regular door opening. If you have a very adventurous, climber type toddler or baby, this is not the gate for you. If your young'un is a bit more cautious, these would make a great baby gate. We also like the look and think they could be painted very easily too, to match your home's decor.

great value, serves the purpose
I bought this gate for a wide opening to keep my toddler from going up the stairs. Installation is very easy (just 4 eye-hooks screwed into the wall), but it would have helped if they had included some drywall anchors. I had some anyways, so I didn't have to spend any extra money, but unless you're screwing the eye-hooks into solid wood, you need them. It's great that you can latch/unlatch the gate from either end, which makes quite easy to adapt to any opening and a snap to remove completely when you don't need it. Also, since it's accordion-style, it truly does fit any opening within the range, as opposed to the gates that you have to attach pieces to until it fits, and sometimes it just doesn't work at all. It does flex a bit when it's pushed, leaned on by my daughter, but certainly not enough to break. The plastic piece across the top keeps it quite secure enough for any normal use and abuse. It's tall enough, that my baby will never be able to get over it before we are able to quit using it. The open/close latch is not as easy as some, but after you do it a time or two, it's pretty easy and anyone should be able to handle it with one hand, while any typical kid of the age this should be used for should not be strong/dexterous enough to handle it. Overall, this fit my needs perfectly, and is a TERRIFIC VALUE at a fraction of the cost of much more elaborate gates.

Perfect!
I have a screened in porch with a doggie door that the chickens figured out how to use. I was looking for something to allow the air to flow, but keep the girls off the porch. It had to be easy to install and sturdy enough so the dogs (Great Pyr & Black Lab) couldn't bust through it. Had I paid attention I'd know that this wasn't the gate for me...but I wished it was! The bracing across the top adds a bit of stability. The gate and was easy to swing open and close and go entirely away when needed. No matter how hard you try, you just can't make a 60" gate fit a 72" doorway. I didn't return it however! I liked it so much, I passed it along to my sister who's using it on her front porch to keep a very curious toddler from falling down the porch steps. The sturdiness and quality are great! It wouldn't stop a determined beastie, but it does the job with a moderately well mannered one. The rivets all were well done. The hinges to the wall are easy to install & operate. (Easy to uninstall too!) The eye hook to keep the bottom snug - easy to install! A drill makes this easier on your wrists to install, but not required. Elbow grease and a screwdriver will get you there! If I ever have a need for a 6' gate I'd come back to this one! I'd also give it as a gift - oh wait! I already have!!!

Not effective for Livestock Guardian Dogs
I loved this gate so much that I stained it to match our front decks and installed it to keep our free-range sheep and Livestock Guardian Dogs out. It worked like a dream, much better than the “Human’s Only / No Animal Access” sign that they habitually ignored. With this gate in place we could finally hang laundry out to dry on the front decks and have our morning coffee in peace. It was so enjoyable that we built a breakfast bar on the lower deck as well as a matching an outdoor dining table on the middle deck (took several weeks to complete these projects), then invested in complementary patio chairs. The sheep and dogs respected our new outdoor living room for four marvelous months since they clearly understood “Gate = Stay Out.” I then ordered lovely outdoor furniture fabric at great expense and have been sewing custom table clothes and matching shade sails as finishing touches, “House Beautiful” style.Unfortunately we found the gate smashed to piece this morning with young Loki looking very proud of himself. We don’t know why he chose this particular day to kill our beloved accordion gate. One thing is for sure: those of you who have large working dogs are advised to go the distance by building a custom gate with 2x4s and steel cattle panel inserts (this is what we’re spending the rest of the day doing). Even after leaving it alone for months, in the end it takes only a moment of boredom for a big dog to destroy a very pretty gate designed for controlling toddlers, young children, and house pets.
