Preview for maximum enjoyment!
Bought this after getting and enjoying SCORPIONS REVISITED. It ended up being a mixed bag. You really get a sense that Roth loves ALL kinds of music because this release is VERY varied. Some of his music is neoclassical rock, but a lot of it features orchestras, schmaltzy Sinatra style music, vocal rock music, and piano only pieces. Frankly, about half of this release was pretty much what I expected (and enjoyed). I wanted more instrumental rock pieces in a neoclassical vein. Instead I got a lot of vocal music. All in all, I get a sense that Roth is a really great creative guitarist. I was left wondering if he influenced Yngwie because I hear a lot of Uli in Yngwie's soloing. That's where Uli is at his best IMHO, and I wish I had gotten two discs full of instrumental neoclassical music. So I would recommend people preview first and not buy this blindly.
