Review: Cheap and Easy! - I used this on my 10/22 and it worked pretty well. I tried to attach the front end of the sling to the barrel band screw, that didn't fit mine but it might work for you. I have a synthetic stock that is fairly hollow so I was a little concerned about the screws pulling out or stripping the stock. I removed the rifle from the stock and I drilled two holes into the stock. The screws were pretty easy to install and are secure, no loosening or movement at all. I feel like this was a good upgrade for me, I like having the option of attaching a sling. Review: In My Opinion the Best Sling Swivels - I like Uncle Mike's products and have been buying them for quite a while. I think their sling swivels are the best made, especially if you are trying to put a sling on a Ruger 10/22. Most stocks that come with this rifle don't have sling swivels - or at least not in the right places. The little adaptor that allows you to attach a swivel to the front barrel band is worth the entire price of this product! Of course you're then going to have to figure out what to do to the rear of the stock. One caution...the adaptor does NOT fit some after-market barrel bands for the Ruger 10/22. For instance, the Liberty Training Rifle from E.A. Brown uses a much larger screw than Ruger. It won't fit. Also be sure you order the right size. Most slings are either 1" or 1.25" wide. If you order too small, your sling won't fit. The profile was too big, and pushed the swivel open (Though not all the way) when the swivel was tilted all the way forward (Like it would be if you were carrying the rifle over your shoulder). The modification is very straightforward and not a big deal if you have some small files and sandpaper. Just push the swivel back and forth to see where you need to remove material. Rinse and repeat until the swivel can move freely all the way forward.
