I love this coat. I am a 5'8" 160lb female and I purchased the small and it fit great. I bought it for use in lab in my Organic Chemistry course because I was worried about the reagents we use staining or burning holes through my clothes. Indeed it has done well to prevent a couple small spills from damaging my clothes. I did a lot of searching - at my universities store where they sold lab coats and I found the Dickies coat to be the highest quality. Most of the other lab coats I encountered were oddly sized and way too flimsy and thin. Granted I'm not intending to look fashionable in my lab coat - but this one fit nicely without it being terribly baggy. I wasn't interested in the female sized lab coats for the reason that I wanted a longer coat that went down to me knees to offer the best protection. The fitted female coats only went down to 31" and were more expensive. I must say that as a female purchasing the men's coat, the shoulders do seem to be slightly large. It works for me since I have broader shoulders for a woman, so if you are female looking into this, you may want to order on the small size.Features I love include the internal iPad pocket. It fits an iPad well - although I personally wouldn't keep my iPad in the pocket since I have the coat buttoned up the entire time I am in lab. The breast pocket includes an additional slot to hold a pen/pencil - certainly a great little feature when you find yourself needing your pen accessible. The pockets at the hips are deep and hold many things well. The cotton material is thick and very soft so you can't really see through the coat even if you wear a dark shirt underneath. It includes a small loop at the collar for hanging up your coat if you desire to do so.My impressions are that the designer for this coat put a lot of forethought into the needs of those who would wear this lab coat. I would highly recommend for anyone who needs a sturdy full coverage coat with many pockets!

This product is worth it! As a new bio major I needed the apron for class! It is great, durable, and true to size! Amazing! 100% worth the money. And it has a tan to hang it on a hook!

This lab coat is made of very nice, thick material with great coverage. Of course it isn't that super thick material that you find many MD's wearing but I'm not living on an MD paycheck either. Unfortunately, the 4X I ordered was way too small. Actually, the cheapo 3X I had before fits looser than the 4X. So I purchased the 5X and the fit is perfect. I would suggest that any big man order the next size up. I have very broad shoulders and the fit is great with lots of room around my upper arms. The cinch at the waist keeps me from looking like I am wearing a circus tent, a plus on a campus filled with beautiful women.I am very happy with my purchase. This coat is an excellent value. I only docked a star because of the smaller cut.

I bought this as a requirement for a biology class I'm taking. I would not otherwise buy a lab coat, nor have I ever owned one, so I don't really have a frame of reference. That said, the material is quite sturdy, and the construction of the garment seems quite sound. It has generous pockets on the sides, as well as a wide, deep inside pocket. The breast pocket has a divided portion for a pen. It fits as expected. I think the only way it could be improved is with snaps instead of buttons, to offer easier on/off. That's a minor point though. I'm 6'3" with a 50" chest. The 2XL Tall fits perfectly over my shirt and pants, and extends down to about mid-thigh. There's a (placket?) across the back, so it fits trimly instead of like a huge white bell. The sleeves are maybe a touch short. They hang about right with my arms at my sides, but ride up when I reach for something. That could, however, be an advantage, as you don't want to drag your sleeves through things in the lab. I washed it once, and it shrank a touch, but not excessively. The material held up well, and the garment held its shape.

I have worked in the medical field for almost 20 years now and I have seen from excellent lab coats to crappy ones. This one is pretty good.I purchased this for my spouse who is following Physician Assistants (PAs) and plans to go to school to become a PA. The coat quality is great, the size is adequate (he is short anyhow), and it looks professional. You can have it embroidered if you wish as well. I can use the same white coat while I am doing my Nurse Practitioner (NP) school.If you just want it just to use it as a Halloween costume, like some people have done and reviewed about it, it works just as well and for the price, you can’t go wrong.

Many lab coats do not stand up to the riggers of daily inpatient care use. This one stands up well. washes well and takes starch well also helping with its stain resistance. I've snagged it a few times on items around the hospital and it doesn't tear like the other coats I've owned.

Too big for me and color is off white which I didn’t like

I'm very picky about the way clothes fit me, especially outerwear. I looked around for a labcoat that wouldn't look like I was wearing a box for a while and came across this one. The back belt gives it a nice tailored look. The fabric was really impressive. I've owned Dickies clothing before and knew it to be really tough, not soft at all. This coat is really soft to the touch - almost too much - it collects dog hair and dust pretty easily.It's a great coat and I got lucky with a great fit. I typically wear a large but went for the medium and it's perfect. The sleeve length is just right and the shoulders are too.
