TYC2389 01-06 Hy Snta Fe 2.4/2.7L L4/V6 A/Mt 1R Pa Rad

I bought this for my 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe. I received the radiator in the manufacturers box. The box was smashed on one end and had a large hole punched in the front. The left side of the radiator was bent about an inch, and would not aligne with the bolt hole on the car. I tried pulling on the mount to straighten it and the bent tubs, but the aluminum tab started to strech, and the tubs would not move. I was afraid the tab would eventually tear out or break off. Since all the other mounts alligned good I used a large zip tie to secure the left middle mount to the car. The fins are very flimsy, so I would recommend taping some cardboard over them for protection until the installation is complete. Just brushing my hand against the fins while working folded the fins over. I recommend the manufacturer or seller spend a little more for durable packaging. There are many comments about bent radiators being shipped to customers. I suspect the radiator gets bumped during shipping and even if the box looks Ok the radiator is damaged. I bought a golf swing aid from Amazon, it was virtually bulletproof and it came double boxedind heavy cardboard. The radiator packaging needs to be sturdier, bolstered and spaced better especially on the ends So far the radiator works good, it was ready for installation, and it came with a radiator cap. Except for packaging problems I would recommend it.

Product arrived in a typical cardboard box. The box was in good shape except some light scuffs. When product was removed from box it was noted that the mounting plates on the right side were bent. Since the old one was shot and I needed the vehicle back running It was decided to bend the plate back in line to be mounted and to add a bottle of stop leak as precaution, till a new one can be obtained and can be replaced. I am still very upset over this.

***UPDATE*** 07/26/21: Although the vehicle is no longer a daily driver, the radiator is still going strong with no signs of failure. The OEM unit failed at eight (8) years, and the TYC replacement has been in place for seven (7) years now. Therefore, the build quality is as good as, or better than the OEM unit. Purchase with confidence! ***END OF UPDATE******Original Review Follows***Purchased to replace the original Hyundai radiator in our 2006 Hyundai Santa Fe GLS 2.7L V6. It had developed stress fractures in the top tank and began leaking. The leak was very insignificant and hidden under the radiator core support, consequently was very difficult to locate. At most, it was leaking a few ounces in a week; however the smell is a dead giveaway, and evidence of catastrophic failure in the making.The TYC replacement arrived in a few days, well packaged and in excellent condition. A side by side comparison revealed it to be an exact match to the Hyundai OEM unit (at a fraction of the cost).During replacement, take the time to back-flush the AC condenser and remove accumulated road debris, grass, leaves, insects, small birds and mammals unlucky enough to be in your historic driving path. Doing so increases cooling capacity and overall efficiency for the entire system.Removal and replacement were typical for a job of this nature. In fact, the Hyundai engineers did an outstanding job in designing retainer clips and such, so the entire process is actually fairly simple if you're mechanically inclined. Start to finish, was around 2 hours, and the majority of that is due to my OCD nature of testing, cleaning and putting everything back where it belongs.I highly recommend the product.

The delivery was super fast and product arrived in good shape. I installed this over the weekend in a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.7L. It was approximately a 1/4" smaller, length-wise, so the 2 side bolts did not align, but I was able to put 1 in. Also, it's approximately 1/8" shorter height-wise, so the fan had to be squeezed in.Other than that, it's in and working as it should.

The radiator matched well except for one bolt connection. I had to use a smaller bolt and nut due to the misalignment. Wasnt too difficult to install in my 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.7l. It's been about a week so far and no issues. We'll see if it holds up, but I dont antcipate any issues. If it wasn't for the 1 bolt misalignment, I would have given it a 5 star rating. I would also recommend that you replace the 2 large radiator hoses while you have it apart.

looks same as OEM but i had to trim bottom slot tongues of fan module as they would not fit the rectangular brackets at the bottom of the rad. its in and holding fluid.

Installed a few days ago, so far replaced my 13 yr old oem unit and fit perfectly into brackets..
