Engraved, not stamped in black letters on silver polished metal. This Oregon based company makes Quality tags. Came with sturdy rings and nice packaging. I'm impressed that for the price you get to have both sides engraved if you want. On the front my dog's 5 letter name is in all caps and is 1/4 inch tall (nice & Big)My phone number is below the name with letters 3/16 inch tall. On the back of the tag they allowed 4 lines so Line 1 was my full name, Line 2 = street address, Line 3 city/state/zip, and Line 4"alt. phone xxx-xxx-xxxx and it all fit but of course much smaller (about 1/8 inch tall letters but still quite easy to read with the black letters on a silver tag. If you have long names or a lot of info & its for a dog, I recommend the dog bone shape rather than a heart or circle cuz there's more room for the info. A few different sizes/shapes to choose from, up to 4 lines front and back. Automatically centered and if you don't use all four lines, then the ones you do use will be printed in the largest size/font possible.One other thing that isn't mentioned is that size/shape with respect to number of characters: Some shapes, like the heart for instance, only allow so many characters... The badge shape though allows quite a few more. This can be the difference between being able to put your whole name or address on a line or the pet's chip number.One recommendation, and how I did mine, was to get one side with MY name, address and phone number on those four lines, then to get my dog's name in caps, "I'm Chipped!", 1.888.HOMEAGAIN and his chip number on the reverse.Ships FAST, only took a few days to get here.
