Smokey - "Cheers Tim, Cheers Simon"
Here in the U.K. we have a tv show called Sunday Brunch. This is a chat show with cooking and they have a drinks section - knowledgeable people talking about and then guests trying various drinks. This came up on one of those shows. If you don't like smokey or peaty flavours then this isn't for you. Personally I think its fabulous. I can't remember the cocktail it was in on the tv show but that doesn't matter. Drink it neat over ice (shot glass, one ice cube, 2 minute wait and quaff!), it works as the spirit in a Mojito and with grapefruit (Paloma style?).bit on the expensive side so reflected in the star rating there, but I've not come across anything like it taste wise, but that could be cos I tight and won't buy on a whim something I've not heard of before...

If you like your Mezcal remarkably smokey...
In terms of smokiness, this one is quite hard over to the right of the scale.Great bottle and package, has a real presence. Makes an interesting component in a mixed drink. We soaked some chilli flakes in it over night, with some Grand Mariner and lime juice for an intense Mezcal margarita. Used a shaker rather than a blender, served over a big ice cube. Potent, rich, sumptuous. But drinking this by itself - its a bit much. you might mix it with half tequila to take the made smoke down to something a California smokejumper could handle.

Great tasting and good value for money
This is an excellent Mezcal, better than several I have tried that cost more. Drink it neat over ice as a superb substitute for whisky.

Different!
Now I’m not sure about this stuff. If you like smoky, peated whisky, you might appreciate the dark, earthy flavours in this mezcal. It could also make an interesting ingredient for mixing cocktails. The ash-like taste comes from the agave hearts (piñas) which are baked in an earthen oven. Maybe it’s an acquired taste. Not sure I’d buy again, but if you’re interested in broadening your drinks collection, give it a try! They swear by it in Mexico!

An excellent mezcal for the money
Contrary to Amazon's write up this excellent mezcal does not taste of orange! Instead it has all of the smoky aromas and flavours of a fine single malt whisky with a smooth finish on the palate with tastes of honey and sweet roasted peppers.
