Easy change out of the existing..

Water warehouse said large enough for 19000 gallon pool. The heat never goes higher than 80. Even on a ninty five degree day. I had a sum 4 before. It was higher BTUs. This one isn't as nice. Hayward bought them and lowered the quality. The screws don't even line up on the front cover. Buy a black and Decker.

Bought this and upon install found that tcv is bad. Waiting over a month for warranty repair.

Like.... The pool heater was here within a week.

Only 2nd year using, unit is leaking. Spent three service calls to get repaired, which I pay for. Warranty is only on part. Claim called in august 4, it is now September 27th and I am still waiting on a part, I can’t use the Heatpump. I am being told it was shipped two weeks ago!!! Beware and do your research, this is expensive to deal with issues like this! Warranty company for Hayward not good to deal with.

Edit - We were able to find an authorized Hayward company to come and look at this unit. It cost a few hundred dollars but the issue was just a lose connection on the unit. This has been running now for almost two months and has made the summer pool time much more enjoyable! We are very happy with this purchase and I have updated the rating to show that. I have not noticed any major increases in our electricity bill so far. I was very excited for this product. Upon installation we received an LP code. Of course Hayward is closed on the weekends and we are unable to get anyone to come look at the refrigerant in the unit. Extremely disappointed after reading great reviews.

After 8 months, the heater stopped and the technician said it was not repairable. I tried to call - music, music, and again music. Once, I was on hold for 51 minutes. - No way. They don't care. Please don't make a mistake I made. Now, I am without a heater and money at the same time.

After a couple years my control board went out, that's fine. Control boards are on back order due to supply chain issues, that's fine as well. The problem is customer service. I called two authorized service centers, one came out, diagnosed problem and would not return calls from almost 4 months ago. Called another service rep who has also disappeared. Contacted Hayward corporate customer support and then reply, usually after 3 tries. The product may be fine but they are among the worst customer care companies ever. It's been 6 months and still no control board and no heat.
