I have tried many different calcium supplements over the years. This is the first one that I can actually feel the effects the very next day after I've actually taken the supplement. And within a few days to a week my joint pains, tooth aches, and muscle aches go away, whatever the problem happens to be at the time. and when I stop taking the aches come back. I am guilty of not taking regularly because I'm concerned my body will get used to this calcium and stop working. So I skip a day here and there. I know this sounds crazy, but I know my body. I haven't taken any pain killer, shot, medicine, aspirin or anything foreign to my body in almost 30 years. So my aches are not masked by drugs that so many in our society are on. In fact I'm a firm believer if we could get the nutrition from our food and all ate right we would have no need for drugs, but because we can't I have sought out all natural organic style food based vitamins and minerals, and I buy New Chapter for my daily "Man Pills" I'm age 49, and my calcium. Great Product, I buy regularly.

I had hip and back aches for a while that just never let up. I then found out that I had reduced bone density in my hips and back, and was diagnosed with mild osteoporosis. So I started looking for a good calcium supplement. After much research, I came across New Chapter Bone Strength Take Care, and liked the idea that all of the ingredients are natural with no fillers. So I decided to try it. I couldn't believe the results. Within 2 days, the aches were very much less, and after 4 days, the aches were completely gone. I have been taking this supplement for a couple of weeks, and the aches have not returned. So if I like this product so much, why the 2 star rating?? I recently found out that New Chapter has sold out to Proctor and Gamble who is greatly associated with Monsanto. So now I question what the quality of this product will be once Proctor and Gamble starts manufacturing it. I have also been using the New Chapter Zyflamend Whole Body that has also been very effective for inflammation. Now I have to start my research all over to find a safe and effective product for bone strength. UPDATE: 11/05/15: I have since called New Chapter, and was assured that Procter and Gamble would not change a product that works and was selling. In the interim, I switched to a different high quality brand, and my pains came back. So I switched back to the New Chapter Bone Strength, and within a week, the pains are gone again. So I have updated the review to 5 stars, and I am sticking with this product. I really works for me!! UPDATE 06/06/18 As of this point in time, I am still using this product for myself (71 -years-old), and my mother 98-years-old) for about 4 1/2 years. Prior to using this supplement I had pains in my sharp knees when going down stairs.I was also diagnosed with borderline osteoporosis. Since using this supplement, I have not had the any pains pains in my knees and my last physical showed that my diagnosis was osteopenia. I also started having problems with my finger joints locking in the morning when I woke up. I am assuming that this was being caused by arthritis. This problem has also been totally eliminated. This is one supplement that I wouldn't want to be without.

Been taking it consistently and I’ve noticed a difference in my bone density as in less pain in my bones. I keep it refrigerated since it does come in a glass bottle and tablets have a smell that require to be in the refrigerator. It has The necessary extra vitamins in order for it to be absorbed in the bones and not just into the blood stream, Such as the K2 in the Bs. Very easy to swallow tablets have like a polish glaze. Will buy again.

After 6 stress fractures, two broken arms, a fractured cheek bone...at age 33 I was told I had Osteopenia with a score of -2.4. The doctor could not believe the results so immediately re-tested getting a score of -2.2. He felt I was too young for prescription meds and recommended New Chapter Bone Strength. I was to be re-tested in two years, but due to a couple of moves, it was three years before my next scan. During those three years, I took Bone Strength religiously (but was only taking 2 daily because I misread the package). Apparently, that didn't make a difference. At Christmas, I had a new bone dex scan...results...-0.5...normal...normal...normal!!!! For the first time in 10-years, I started running again...with no stress fractures. I am so thankful for this product...so grateful that my MD suggested this herbal/natural course for me. Really and truly...this has changed my life. I will take this product faithfully. UPDATE 2015: Still in the normal range taking two tablets. My mom started taking this sporadicly about 24-mos ago. At that time she was taking a prescription for her osteoporosis. After 6-mos she began taking the prescription and BoneStrength consistently. 12-mos ago, she stopped the prescription and only took BoneStrength (with Doctor approval). About a month ago she had a Bone Density scan. She was downgraded from osteoporosis to osteopenia. She continues to take BoneStrength as her only source for additional calcium.

First of all thanks to all those who reviewed this product. I bought it based on the reviews. Now it is my turn. I have been taking this product for over a year and I recently had a bone density test that was great! I took it as directed and of course I ate well - greens, etc. and exercised well especially the first year. Pill are really slim and go down easy - a big plus for me. And no, I am not paid to review this. I want to spread the word - this product actually works - my numbers actually improved so much that I got a "I am pleased to inform you...." letter from the doctor. Of course as with any supplement consult with your doctor first prior to taking it. I will continue to take New Chapter Bone Strength. I have read the latest article in the NY Times on supplements and it is concerning, but for now I will continue to take this supplement. I will provide an update if things change. I took generic calcium supplements from a corporate grocery store (i.e. Vons, Pavilion, Ralph's, Stop and Shop) and seeing a doctor after 6 months he measured my bone density and I barely made improvements. I was at risk for osteoporosis and a lot of bones were on the verge of hitting frailty. BUT when I switched over to NewChapter's calcium formula, it made all the difference in the world. I was no longer in the red zone, no longer at risk for osteoporosis (for now). It only took 3 months and a quick trip to the doctor for a scan for me to know that my bones were strong again. The secret of the formula is that it is WHOLE FOOD based, it isn't based out of limestone, which you'll find in "traditional" calcium supplements such as Solaray, which even goes as far as branding their calcium supplements with citrates to cheap out on quality, while selling it to you at comparable prices. For just a few bucks more, you could have the quality and results that I had with NewChapter's Bone Strength Take Care. I adore taking this calcium supplement. They're really slim tablets that are smooth and easy to swallow. Easy on the stomach. The price is really good on Amazon so I order here on subscription. I take three (770mg), get 200mg from a multi-vitamin and hope I get 230mg through diet, even though according to guidelines by the Institute of Medicine 1,000 mg is needed for adults. 1,200 for women over 50. Recent studies link calcium supplements to a higher risk of heart attacks and kidney stones. Yikes, so you want to be careful. Another thing I never knew is that our bodies can't make calcium, so unless you take in enough calcium, by mouth, every day, you have to keep borrowing it from your skeleton, so over your lifetime, you need to get enough. One packaging Quality Control issue I've discovered recently is they've stopped putting packing cotton inside the bottles. I'm for less packaging but in the last three shipments there've been as many as 13 broken tablets and as few as six. You don't want to take these broken tablets since they're ragged and sharp. Therefore the three stars instead of the five stars I'd like to give them. Come on, how much does it cost to add a piece of cotton?!! I'm saving up all the broken tablets till I have 120 of them to send back to New Chapter for a new bottle of 108 tablets with 12 broken ones.
