Great product - FULL informative review!
I am a hairy guy and the the product is a very welcome tool to make myself more presentable. I have a couple of things to add though. First, I hesitate to call the Mangroomer a "shaver." It does not "shave" nor does it leave your skin smooth without trace of hair. It is more like a clipper, although it does clip the hair very close to the skin. The end result would be something like what you would see if you shaved the area and looked at it the next day or so. Basically stubble. Next, the clipper can be abrasive. You have to be careful not to press too hard or else your skin will get hurt. Just provide enough pressure so that the clipper makes contact with your skin. No more, or you may end up as disgruntled as some reviewers here seem to be. This pain is easy to avoid, so don't condemn the Mangroomer just because you aren't using it the right way. Lastly, some people complain that the clipper won't cut hair, and say that it pulls instead. This is the result of trying to clip an area too quickly. If you go slow and steady, then the clipper will work better. The best way to use the clipper is to move it in the opposite direction of the hair growth while simultaneously moving it back and forth about an inch, if that makes sense. Instead of just getting an area in one wide sweep, go slow and move the clipper back and forth in an effort to get all the hair. I will admit that if you are clipping long hair, the trimmer may pull slightly. But you shouldn't have long hair once you start clipping it regularly! I have tried shaving my back with the Razorba. While it worked great the first time, I ended up getting a bunch of ingrown hairs and razor bumps on my neck, shoulders and back. When I tried to shave my back again a few days later, the razor cut into all the bumps caused by the first session and it was a horrible experience. What I do now is attach my cheap Remington foil shaver (about $30 on Amazon and works beautifully. I use it for my face regularly) to the Razorba head (instead of a razor blade) with two zip ties and shave my back with it. This is a great way to get a smooth feel to the area you want to rid hair from if using an actual razor blade won't work for you. The Mangroomer removes the hair enough so the foil shaver is functional (foil shavers only shave stubble - don't try them on longer growth. They pull!) and the foil shaver makes everything smooth. One last tip is to use lithium batteries. My Mangroomer eats normal batteries from breakfast. Oh, and waxing hurts like hell, and is very expensive. This is what works best for me. Hopefully it helps someone else out. From one hairy guy to another.

Would Not Recommend
In the past I have bought a few man groomers....they worked pretty good. This one was horrible out of the gate. I know how to use them but this one left me with red scrapes and barely could cut any hairs...Very disappointed in this purchase and dont know why it wouldn't cut the hairs.

I wish I had this years ago!
My Mangroomer got delivered today from Amazon. I glanced at the instructions (not that there's much to know about it), popped in a couple batteries, went into the bathroom, took off my shirt, and went to work. In about 10 minutes, my back was smooth. It was definitely the easiest solution I ever used for removing back hair. Pros ============= 1) It works extremely well. 2) It's tricky in that you need two mirrors (a bathroom mirror and hand mirror suffice) and the motions you use don't come naturally. You kind of have to feel where you're moving it. But you get used to it and it's actually very easy, which is nice. Just relax and take your time and soon you'll have all the excess hair off your back. 3) It kind of feels nice. Like a mild back scratcher. It didn't leave any marks on me and doesn't feel excessively sharp. Cons ============= 1) It's not the sturdiest appliance. The plastic is lightweight and if you drop it, I can see it breaking. It folds open but feels a little loose. This doesn't affect the performance as the pressure you apply keeps it rigid, but it still has that initial loose feel to it. 2) The hair you shave off seems attracted to the plastic like static. A minor annoyance, but it's something that will have you wiping it off with a rag to get rid of all that hair clinging to it. Things to Note ============== I see they sell extra heads. The fact that they do suggests that the heads have a lifespan. Also, there is no cap or cover for the blade. The blade itself isn't overly sharp or pointy, so unless you gouge yourself, you shouldn't have any scratches. It doesn't remove hair completely smooth like you just waxed or use a hair removal cream, but it still does a very very nice job. Advice for How to Use ======================= I held it by the blade part of the shaft near the joint, reached back, and then brought it from the center of my back outwards. Switching arms, that took care of my lower back. I then used the full telescoping handle and went from above, like in the illustration, and that took care of my upper back. I recommend using the mirror to see where there's hair, and then just going by the feel of it. You can hear when the blade comes in contact with hair and can feel the parts of your back that you've done (like getting your back scratched). Then use the mirrors again to see where you missed. The important thing to do is to relax and take your time. Hold it with a firm grip since I don't recommend dropping it, and soon you'll get the hang of it. I've gone through a lot to remove my back hair over the years. For the first time, I can do it all myself with little effort. I'm definitely happy I got this item. I rate it four stars. It would have gotten a five-star rating had it been built a little more rugged. I see there is a rugged model, but for the pricing, I think this one should have been made a little tougher. Still, it's very very effective and it's easy. That makes it a good purchase.

Works as advertised.
I had purchased this same model back in 2019, so it lasted almost 7 years before I replaced it with the same model. It does a good job.

Get that monkey off your back!
It's hair. All hair needs to be cut/trimmed. Do it. Amazon packaging fine. Product packaging: dangerous, withstanding an atomic blast fortress shield of plastic. Hate... HATE this kind of packaging where the only options are ruining a pair of scissors and slicing your hand on the cut plastic, or stabbing your hand, leg, arm while using a pocket knife and slicing your hand on the cut plastic. HATE IT. Product. Lightweight. The arm on mine is a lose...wobbly lose. The silver button makes the arm longer....if you push hard enough. Not really necessary. Blade: Awwwwwesommmme! Seriously. Not that impressed with product at first... but fired it up, easily trimmed my back............then my butt (why not?).......and chest. Recklessly went over my nipples, didn't even hurt or cut. The blade does an amazing trim. It's like a back scratcher. Dig it. Easy to use. Yes, contrary to other reviews, rechargeable batters do work. (although, I knocked it a little bit, and they stopped working, the cover wouldn't stay on...took more effort than it should, but yes, rechargeable batters and once cover is on, works fine) Product feels a little cheap, but the blade makes up for it. Cuts really close, but not (nor did I expect it to) cut as close as a razor blade. I'm now prepped for waxing. Yes, Man UP. It's not that bad. I've been when they just went for it... without trimming... and yes... wow... hurts...but there are worse things. The disgust I have for back hair outweighs a little temporary suffering. Almost worth 4 stars because of the ease of use, quality of blade....it just feels so cheap.......so glad it works!

A MUST OWN for every MAN!!
I bought this gadget after reading about it in a magazine. It got lots of praise and I decided to give it a try after reading the good reviews on Amazon. I was never super hairy or anything but I like to take care of my body and look and feel good. It was always a pain trying to get rid of back hair. I have tried creams and waxes and shaving and all were either painful or messy and sometimes I would have rashes for a week from the strong products. I was pretty excited to receive the Mangroomer but somewhat skeptical since most of the gadgets don't work. The packaging was simple and it was easy to open with a box cutter. The box included the Mangroomer, charger, registration docs, warranty information, instructions, and a cap for the blade. Its pretty easy to get going with this all you need is to charge it, there are no blades to attached. Once charged the toughest thing was getting used to the handle. Since I have never used one of these it took me a few minutes to get adjusted to the shape and size. I RECOMMEND you try it out before turning it on just so you get used to it. Once you get used to the Mangroomer its awesome. First the blade is engineered in a way that wont cut you even if you don't use the right angle on your back. I have never cut myself and I have been using it over 5 years. The instructions say to shave against the grain but I shave both ways and it works. I also use it to shave my armpits and personal areas and it does a great job. Shaving cream is not recommended and is not needed at all. The irritation is minimal and goes away after a shower. Here are the Pros and Cons.. Pros: Strong motor Safe blade Multi use Long reach handle Fast charge Cons: A bit bulky Takes a a bit to get used to Conclusion: This is a must own for any man that likes to take care of themselves and wants a simple and safe tool to help out. Its well built and powerful and will last. update: I am going to do a separate review for the new Mangroomer soon that I got after this one MANGROOMER Sku 211-6 Professional Do-it-yourself Electric Back Hair Shaver

Genius!
If you hate looking in the mirror in the morning because you feel like Sasquatch is looking back at you, and you have more hair on your back than on your head, this is the device you need; especially if you are in-between "significant others" and there is no one available to use a razor on your back. It will not shave you as cleanly as a razor with foam but it will do a very respectable job. It uses 2 AA batteries and is very light weight. The foldable handle and extension allow you to reach every area of your back - though it takes a bit of practice to figure out the best angle to approach different areas of your back from. I found that slow and easy, and with a very light pressure works best. Move the shaver back and forth very slowly over the same area and virtually all the unsightly hair is caught in only two passes. You will see some red marks on your back after the first couple uses, but they will vanish in 15 minutes. I have had no experience with the Mangroomer pulling or gouging. It's very smooth. The trimming is much finer and better than the trimming I get from the trimmer on my Braun foil head shaver which cost over $200. One caution I would offer: while this works great on one's back and could be used to do some manscaping for clean, sharp lines down below, I would never use this on sensitive areas with loose skin, if you get my drift. I think the chances of pulls or nips from the cutting head are just too likely. Stick to the Gillette or Schick multi-blade and foam for that area! But for the stated purpose, this is an indispensable grooming device to get rid of unwanted body hair.

Clipper not powerful enough to trim hair
I was very excited to order the mangroomer, it seemed like the perfect solution to a long time problem. I have hair on my back. The upper back is quite easy to get to, and I use a regular trimmer there. However, the middle back is very difficult to reach. The mangroomer looks like a great idea, and it is contructed well enough, though it seems a bit light, however, I found it to be well made. The clipper however, would not clip my hair. I tried it from all angles, slowly, flat and alligned to my back, against the grain, with the grain, sideways, but the trimmer was not very powerful. I used my regular trimmer over the same areas that I could reach and it took the hair right off. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this product. Though I commend the innovative design, the clipper itself is too weak to cut hair. Also, it was a bit painful to my skin, perhaps that is because it was just grabbing at the hairs and not clipping them. I will return it to Amazon and post an update as to their service. I expect a full refund, given that I tried the product and it does not work as Amazon advertised. I commend the designers for their innovative idea, and only hope that they better design the clipper in the future. I really would like this to work realiably. Thank you. EDIT: I returned my mangroomer and got a full refund from Amazon (minus shipping of course). I would recommend you try the product even if it didn't work for me, given that the most you will lose is shipping. I hope the designers come out with a new design because I will definitely try it then.

Works perfect!
I don’t know what some people are talking about... I’ve had a positive experience with this trimmer. I do bodybuilding and for competition we need to trim off all the body hair. It works perfect on all parts of the body. Even the private areas, balls and armpits. I haven’t been cut once by this trimmer. It’s actually the only trimmer I can use on my body without getting irritation or cuts. I got the one with the batteries so I don’t have to wait to charge it. Just pop in the batteries and go.
