Great thermometer
This meat thermometer performs exactly as advertised. I've had it for nearly a year and I've had no issues. Should it ever need replacing, I'd be happy to buy it again. Pros: Wifi capability is a lifesaver. It allows me to focus on other tasks instead of babysitting my smoker. Any time I want to check on the temperature of my smoker or food, I just have to open the app. Same goes for the temperature and time alarms that are fully adjustable. The graphical display of temperature over time is neat. When I first started using my pellet grill, I was able to track how much of a temperature swing there is in the cooking chamber, which allowed me to adjust the temperature setpoint so I would be closer to where I needed to be. The probe clips are great. They allow you to place a temperature probe right on the cooking grate so you can see what's really going on inside. Most smokers and grills have the probe or thermometer mounted high up which results in a sensed temperature that is higher than actual. The magnet is very strong. I attach the thermometer to the hopper on my smoker and never have to worry about it falling off. Cons: Very few cons to mention. Setup can be a bit temperamental. You really have to be close to your router or it may not connect to your wifi during setup. Twice I've had an issue where the thermometer would disconnect from WiFi and not want to reconnect. I had to reset it and repeat the setup procedure. Not a huge deal, but it did annoy me at the time because I was in the middle of cooking when it happened. Overall I'm very pleased with my purchase. This is my second product I've bought from Inkbird, and I feel like they put out great, reliable products at a very reasonable price.

Great product. Great service. Recommended.
Over the last decade or more, I've had a clutch of various BBQ thermometers, including several that had some sort of remote unit. None worked very well or lasted very long. None provided any range that allowed me to cook in the kitchen or be far enough away to know with confidence that my food or my smoker/BBQ wasn't at the right temperature. I recently bought an Inkbird ITC-308 Digital Temperature Controller 2-Stage Outlet Thermostat to use as part of a bread proofer oven hack. I was so impressed with that unit, that I found other uses for it (cold smoking, hot smoking, BBQ temperature control (via airflow control and fan). I especially liked the ability to use the app, and program independent actions for each of the outlets (turn on/off 2 powered devices based on the information I specify). When my most recent BBQ temperature monitor finally quit working, I came to Amazon and searched for "Inkbird BBQ Thermometer," and I was pleased to discover Inkbird had several models to pick from. I chose this one, based on its features (mainly the WiFi and the 4 independent probes), its high customer ratings/comments and my previous experience with their products. I also bought an extra "oven probe" and a matching case for it. I received everything, charged it up and have had numerous successful BBQ, smoker and oven cooks, relying on it to monitor oven/BBQ/smoker temperatures and multiple items being cooked (including mixed meats). I like the app very much and use both its pre-programmed functions (both for oven/BBQ cooking temperatures and meat doneness temperatures) and its custom settings and alarms. I especially like how the app graphs temperatures; it's helped me accurately predict when some of those 10 or 12 hour roasts are going to hit the target temperature. It is kinda cool to be at the market miles away and be able to check on my BBQ cook -- more than once, I've called one of my kids and said, "Hey, please toss another piece of oak in the BBQ's firebox for me, kiddo!" I have recommended this unit to several friends, and at least 2 have bought them since -- we "gush" over this thing when we talk, and we hope once this COVID crude goes away to drink beers at our next BBQ party while raving about our Inkbird to our other friends. -- Mine suddenly developed a problem with 2 of the 4 probe ports. In short, #1 and #2 quit working during a long cook where I transitioned from the BBQ/smoker to finish up in the oven. The issue was brought to my attention by the app, which notified me the oven was out of the temperature range. I was surprised to discover no temperature readings for the 2 probes. I switched the probes to #3 and #4, and I immediately got results. I finished the cook, enjoyed a great meal, and later that night looked at the unit again. The problem persisted. I tried to power cycle it and a few other things, but the problem kept occurring. Bummer. I reached out to Inkbird for their recommendations, hoping there was some reset option or secret app function I might use to reboot or otherwise get things working. They got back to me quickly (despite it being the Christmas weekend) and asked me to answer a few questions and send some pics, which I did. One of their staff and I exchanged a half dozen emails within the same hour. In the end, the customer service representative said they'd send me a replacement unit. I can't explain why my unit developed a problem. These things seem very well built and the unit is rugged. I didn't knock it around or drop it. I'm super-pleased with Inkbird's response. I feel their customer service is first-rate, like their products. I will continue to recommend this and other Inkbird products to my friends, knowing they stand behind their products with a level of customer service that matches the quality of their products. I'm adding an Inkbird Waterproof Instant Read Thermometer IHT-1P and case to my cart. I'm a fanboy of Inkbird now. I'm going to support them in the only two ways I know how: 1) recommending/reviewing and 2) buying their products. I hope you'll do the same.

An exercise in frustration.
Do not buy this crap thermometer. The InkBird requires you to use their app for set up and for monitoring temps while in use, which isn't a surprise, and you connect to the thermometer through the app. It is extremely difficult to get the app, thermometer, and your home network all connected. I struggled for hours (not an exaggeration) to try to get it set up, to no avail. It took the help of an IT professional friend and several additional hours to connect to the Inkbird and its app for the first time. Turns out it requires explicitly making an administrator account, but the software will not default to administrator even if it's the first account you are making. If you didn't make it an admin account, you'll have to set up a second account -- with a different email-- as an administrator account. It appears that InkBird didn't QA on Android very well, since the Android had more problems than the iPhone did connecting to the app, probably due to differences in the phone's security protocol. A word of warning, the thermometer can only connect to a 2.4 GHz band network. If both bands of your dual band router have the same SSID (very common) you will need to rename one of them or temporarily shut off the 5GHz band so that your phone does not connect to the 5 GHz network. If this happens when setting it up, the app will not be able to find the thermometer. Your phone must be on the same 2.4 GHz network as the thermometer or setup won't work. Once your connection is set up, it doesn't matter what network you are connected to. There supposedly is a way to set up your connection to the thermometer where it broadcasts a 2.4 GHz network, but I have not been able to get it to work. The thermometer always times out and stops broadcasting before the app can find it. Woe be to you if your app forgets the probe. You will need to go through the same painful process again. It will not get easier. Once connected you will discover that the probes may read slightly differently from each other. This will get worse with time. The thermometer does have the capability to let you calibrate the probes which may solve this. I haven't tried. One probe failed after less than four months of use. Last I heard InkBird does not sell replacement probes.

Works great for remote monitoring of your grilling
FURTHER UPDATED 10/2/24 So I donโt know if they did an app update or what, but I found that if you leave the app active on your phone it will actually sound an alarm when it hits temp, and gives you an opportunity to silence all alarms - which is nice when the outside unit is LOUDLY beeping away. I restored my rating to 5 stars and am very happy with this unit now. UPDATE 7/27/23 I wrote my initial review after testing the functionality but not actually grilling meat. Did a pork butt last weekend and all worked well EXCEPT the most important thing: an alarm. This app only sends a push notification when the target temp is hit - one ding at best. Thankfully I was watching closely and saw them. When I got to the grill the base unit was beeping like crazy, letting my neighbors know the meat was done! Wanted to send it back but I waited too long. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have another Bluetooth unit very similar to this that I like a lot, but the remote unit is only good for the Bluetooth range. I wanted something that I could monitor over Wi-Fi so I could use it remotely on my phone from anywhere. This until fits the bill and works good. I like having the 4 probes which allows multiple settings for things like different cuts of meat, or vegetables, or even monitoring the temperature of the grill with the included grill clip. The different colored probe grips also helps to easily keep track of which probe is which. Since this unitโs settings are similar to the one I currently use, it was easy to set up the temp settings and alarms after getting it synced to the phone. After downloading the app to my phone there was a paring process that did not go well for me. At first I thought it was because we have a dual band Wi-Fi system - the Eero mesh, which uses both 5mhz and 2.44mhz bands. This unit works ONLY on the 2.44mhz bandwidth. After failing to pair twice, I found a setting on the Eero that pauses the 5mhz system for a few minutes so you can overcome just this problem. After doing that I was able to get the unit paired to my Wi-Fi and the app started working on my phone. From there, everything is done on the app except to turn on and off the temp probe unit that sits near the grill. The app is fairly straight forward and doesnโt have a lot of features so itโs easy to use. One feature that my other unit doesnโt have is the temperature history that shows the progress of the temperature over the time of the cook. This could be useful for gauging how long a similar cook will take in the future. It is not dynamic, however, so you have to go in and out of the history page for it to update the history - so you canโt watch it progress in real time if you sit on the history page. Overall Iโm very pleased with this unit and think itโs reasonably priced for the functions it provides. It meets my needs and I recommend it for simple remote temperature monitoring.

nice upgrade from regular blue tooth unit
Qualifier: 1) I am not an expert cook/smoker. 2) I started two years ago with a nice blue tooth unit. I upgraded so I can have more probes and wanted a phone app so I can be farther away from the smoker. I did my first smoke with chicken breast. Over all, this inkbird model was good. No real issues. Commentary: Set up: No real issues. Battery was less than 10% so be sure to give yourself charge time. Base unit: big and clear display. Magnet is good feature. Suggest color coding the inputs instead of just numbering. Color coded probes are a very nice feature as well as the silicone rubber. helps handling when hot. The cables seem to get a bit tangled easier to my old unit and can kink which is a negative. Software : I run IOS16. I would like to see a lock screen widget added so I can see the data without unlocking. Also, on the phone app, it would be helpful to add the color to the probe# or on the main screen. Over all good buy for $75

Excellent!
I've been cooking BBQ and smoking meat for more than 15 years. Iโm also somewhat of a gadget-guy and am always looking to up my BBQ cooking arsenal. I have a lot of experience with different thermometers ranging from old-school oven dials, to wireless remote styles, to the newer Bluetooth and Wi-Fi models. The InkBird Wi-Fi IBBQ-4T is the best that Iโve found, and it also costs about half the price of other high-end Wi-Fi thermometers. Here are the reasons why I think this is the best Wi-Fi thermometer around: Wi-Fi- If you are new to smoking, or havenโt yet made the stich to Wi-Fi, this is an absolute game changer. Gone are the days of needing to stay within range to keep tabs on a cook. You can monitor temps from literally anywhere you have cellphone service. The freedom that this provides canโt be overstated. Donโt get me wrong, I love sitting on the patio smoking BBQ, but I also have obligations and things to take care of. Keeping an eye on how my brisket is coming along while Iโm watching my sonโs soccer game is incredibly handy. The cool points I get when I casually check the temp my ribs while Iโm out mountain biking with friends is the type of thing thatโll put a little swagger in your step. Even if youโre not comfortable leaving the house while cooking, the elimination of dead spots that you have with Bluetooth and wireless units is a huge improvement. Setup- This is an area where Inkbird really stands out. Setup was very easy. My six-year-old daughter was with me while I was unboxing, and she actually did most of the setup with a little guidance from me. We just followed the instructions, and everything worked. It was that easy. User interface- I found the platform to be very intuitive and easy to use. In just a few minutes I was able to figure out how to get the unit to do everything that I wanted, such as set high and low alerts for my cooking temperature, as well as setting a finish temp for the meat that Iโm cooking. Creating my own custom temps and ranges was very fast and easy as well. Anyone whoโs tried to do this using the older wireless remote models will greatly appreciate the ease of setup that you get using this app. Accuracy- Having the ability to calibrate individual probes is a huge benefit, although all probes were spot on when tested in an ice bath and boiling water. I was surprised by the responsiveness of the probes. They are within a couple seconds of my ready check thermometer, which is impressive. In a pinch you could use one of these probes to spot check the temp of something, although thatโs not really what this is designed for. Fit and Finish- this is another area where the InkBird Wi-Fi IBBQ-4T really shines. The build of the central unit itself is sleek and sturdy. Weather resistant ports and a magnetized base make life easier. Color coded probes help to keep things organized when setting up for a cook. The probes are just the right size- not so long that they take up valuable real estate in the cook chamber, but not so short that they canโt get an accurate reading on a large cut of meat. The 90-degree elbow on the probes is also a nice improvement over the earlier Inkbird models. Final thoughts- whether youโre new to BBQ and looking for a thermometer that will set you up for success, or a well-seasoned smoker (sorry, I couldnโt resist) whoโs looking to up their BBQ game by making things more streamlined and convenient, the InkBird Wi-Fi IBBQ-4T should be at the very top of your list of thermometers. It has all the advanced features that you get with the higher end Wi-Fi thermometers on the market. It does everything as well or better than the competition and does so at a more competitive price-point. Iโm very happy with the InkBird Wi-Fi IBBQ-4T and Iโd definitely recommend it to others without hesitation.

Perfect in almost every way!
Awesome thermometer! Can't say enough great things about it. Comes with 4 probes, a rechargeable battery, has a magnetic back so you can attach it to your grill out of the way and the app is reliable and easy to use! Out of the box, all 4 probes were tested in ice water and boiling water and they are dead accurate with no adjustments needed. However, the device has the ability through the app, to adjust the calibration on each probe if needed! The app is also fully customizable and you can set an end temperature or a temperature range and can set notifications / alarms to notify you when you're out of range. The other nice thing about it being a wifi thermometer is that I can see the temps even when I'm not at home! Takes some of the stress away from stepping a way for a quick run to the store while your cook is going! There are only 2 cons to this unit 1. The charger: I have only been able to get this unit to charge using the short cable that came with it from the factory. I have tried no less than 5 other usbA to usbC cables and 3 other usbc to usbc cables and none of them work. Literally only the factory cable works so don't lose it! 2. My thermopro thermometer came with spools to wrap up the probes and wires with and it has spoiled me to the point that I went on thingiverse and found some spools that I could 3d print for these probes. Which it came with some but I was at least able to solve this issue. Overall, this is a great setup if you're looking to extend your range to anywhere with a wifi thermometer. And the price is way better than most of the competitors. Battery life is very good and I've done 3 12+ hour cooks and the battery is still indicating it does not need a charge. Great thermometer for the money and I would buy this again or recommend it to anyone who asks.

Want wifi but don't want to buy a new pellet grill? This is your solution!
Edit: 1.5 year update The notifications got sorted out long ago and the thermometer is still working great. Still highly recommended. Edit: 9 month update Still happy with the thermometer, but Android 11 screwed up my notification settings and I can't get them to work consistently. Not an Inkbird issue. Edit: 6 month update I'm still very happy with the Inkbird WIfi. I have used it on several briskets, pork butts, and my first smoked turkey for Thanksgiving. I ran into a small issue when I upgraded my WiFi to a mesh system; the Inkbird uses your phone to set the Wifi and it will not work if your phone is connected to a 5GHz wifi network; the Inkbird can only use 2.4GHz. The solution was to walk further away from my house until my phone switched to the 2.4GHz connection and then do the setup. Since that hiccup, I have had no issues and my thermometer seems to have a better wifi connection. I have been using the BBQ-4T app, not the generic Inkbird one. I recently purchased a pellet grill and dove into the world of smoking and long and low cooks. My grill has 2 built in probes, but it is not wifi enabled and I wanted to be able to monitor my cooks from my phone. This unit is the easy solution. The unit itself appears well made and has 4 different colored probes. I like the colored probes; no more trying to trace the probe wires to figure out which temperature you are checking. Pairing to my phone was easy, although I had to exit the app and reopen it after pairing for the device to show up. I did not use InkBird's smarthome app; there is an app specific to the IBBQ-4t that I would recommend you use. After pairing, I calibrated the probes with boiling water. The probes each required about 1.5 degree offset. The battery life is very good; in my test the battery lasted approximately 47 hours. You can also use the thermometer while charging if you do somehow run out of battery. Temps were stable and in line with my instant read thermometers. I liked how I was able to set different temperature parameters/alarms for each probe using the app. The thermometer comes with 2 "grill grate" attachments and I used one probe to monitor the grill temperature and make sure that I didn't have a flame out or other issue that if left unfixed, could cause a food safety issue. I tested the responsiveness of the app by creating an alarm for a specific temperature point and then heating up the probe above that point. The app alerted me at the desired temperature within seconds, no matter if my phone was on wifi or cellular data. I also made some suggestions for improving the app and was told that they will be implemented in the future. I did 2 long cooks with IBBQ-4T, ribs and brisket. For the ribs, I only used it to monitor grill temps. I did the brisket overnight and set the grill probe to alert me if the temp got too high (grease or pellet dust fire) or too low (flame out due to wind, ran out of pellets, etc). I put probes in both the flat and the point and was able to check progress easily. I set a few different alarm points throughout the cook and was quickly notified whenever that specific probe hit that temp. The only issue I ran into during my overnight cook was that I moved my grill to a different position than I normally use it in (wanted it even further away from the house just in case!) and didn't have good wifi reception. I can't fault the thermometer for that; it's a function of my house layout, construction, and where my router is located. I moved the grill about 10 feet, had rock-sold reception, and had no issues throughout my 16 hour cook. Like another review mentioned, I did notice that the colored silicon on the probes got discolored during the cooks, but a little scrubbing got them back to where the colors were easily distinguishable. Overall, I am very happy with the IBBQ-4T and would recommend it without reservation to anyone looking to up their thermometer game.

Great thermometer, BAD conectors.
The unit in general is great, very visual and easy to use. the app is very useful, it is easy to setup and work with. Connector NOTE: The connectors are very sensitive, they fall out of the sockets at the least movement.

Great device
Nice to be able to monitor my grill and meat temps remotely, from anywhere. Easy to use, seems pretty accurate. Silicone covers on the probes are a nice touch so you can handle them hot. My only suggestion for improvement would be to put in a bigger battery and make it so it doesn't drain so much when not in use. If you leave it fully charged but don't use it for a week or 2, you'll need to charge it up again before use. Good product though. Happy with my purchase.

Great buy!!
This BBQ tool is amazing! All my old probes has been Bluetooth only, so it has always annoyed me I had to stay within range of the device. The WiFi thermometer is definitely a game changer. I love that I can both monitor my food and my grill temperature when Iโm out doing errands. Almost works too well as it told me my grill was on fire when I was out for a run with ribs smoking on the grill. You will never have seen me run faster then I did at that moment trying to save my beef ribs! Fantastic value for money I think. Thumbs up!

As good as the Weber thermometer, but cheaper and you get multiple probs
Comes with four probs, syncs to the phone easy so you can monitor the meat and BBQ temp. Previously used the mini Weber. Both work well, but the Inkbird you get more probs.
