The best rain gauge in its class
I have this item, and I also have a similar gauge from WeatherYourWay. I bought this one because the WYW gauge was of disappointing quality and was very clumsy. I'm sending the WYW gauge to a friend who says he wants it. This Outback Blue gauge is just what I hoped for.

Easy to see the rain water and the measurements.
I Bought it for my husband as a Father’s Day present. I bought it as a replacement rain gauge. He is very pleased with it. It is easy to see the rain that was collected and the numbers. This is the second one that we have purchased. Highly recommend it.

Works Well, But Has a Misprint
I would have given this 5 stars, except there is a misprint on the gauge, see the picture, and note the number of ticks between 0.6" & 0.7", and then between 0.7" and 0.8". The mark that indicates 0.7" is actually at 0.69". Fortunately, there is an extra tick between 0.7" & 0.8", so everything else is correct up to 1.0". This is the secone one of these gauges I've had, the first ome broke after I brought it in for the winter & accidentally knocked it down the stairs. The first one had the misprint too, and I was hoping it had been fixed for the second one. Unfortunately, it was not. Otherwise, it's an excellent gauge and seems to measure accurately. I have it mounted on a pole along with an electronic gauge. I use it as a backup in case the electronic gauge malfunctions (happens occasionally when debris gets stuck in it). Both gauges usually match spot on or within 1 or 2 hundredths of an inch. I would recommend it, just beware of the misprint

Well made and has a high capacity
The rain gauge is very well made, easy to install and has a high capacity. The graduation markings are clear and are rather difficult to read without standing next to the gauge - no reading this one from inside the house while its raining.

We love this rain gauge.
It rains a lot in FL and this helps us keep track better than the local news on how much rain has really fallen. I recommend this to anyone who follows their local weather as well as do you need to water your outdoor plants or lawn.

Inaccurate measured results
On two occasions that it has rained since the gage was installed, the results obtained are grossly in error. The first measured rainfall with this gage was 6.10" and the second rain event it measured 5.75" when in fact the rainfall was 1.5" and 0.9". The inaccuracy I think is the funnel open area is far too large and collects far too much rainfall to accurately record the amount of rainfall. I tossed this device and bought the standard glass tube version. Also, I do not understand the purpose of the surrounding shell with the Australian designed device. To drain the device one has to remove the funnel, the collection tube and the surrounding shell to drain and dry the parts. The collection tube is not easily centered to reattach the funnel. It is a very poorly designed rain gage. I do not recommend anyone consider buying the device.

Doesn’t measure below 1/2 inch
I didn’t read the product description well enough. This rain gauge does not measure below 1/2 inch. In the dry West most of our rain storms are below that. Other that that it was an excellent product.

Inferior product from a Company that has no intergrity.
Gauge is much larger than expected. Also seems cheep. Started a return received label. PO informed me $80.00 to Australia. I didn’t pay $80.00 shipping. What a great insurance policy for the company. It only took 3 days to arrive. It sure didn’t ship from Australia. It shipped from LasVegas Why am I paying for it to go to Australia? So I’m stuck with something I won’t use. Fool me once,Never again! Amazon pay attention. You share in this mishap. Do better by your faithful customers.

Les petits pluviomètres vieillissent mal, et sont limités en capacité. Celui-ci est en polycarbonate, et prévoit le débordement...

Works great. Popped this out in the garden and an hour later it was chucking it down! 9.6mm in 24 hours. Is that a record?
